God is Good by Shannon

Good morning dear readers, Shannon here sharing some bible journaling with you!  The focus of this entry with the reflections I was working on was centered on Joseph, it was his Feast Day. I don't think Joseph gets enough credit..he kind of had a ton of stuff thrown at him abruptly; he chose to take this stuff and run with it even though he had questions and doubts. I am sure he felt pressure to care for Mary and Jesus to the best of his ability, much like a modern husband and father does today.

I documented a simple prayer, and used SRM stickers to help me with this. I used a sticker with vellum to create a tab, I need to make more tabs! You will also find sticker stitches on this page...I think you could look at 95% of my projects and find sticker stitches on them. There's also water color pencils and some awesome pens on this entry.

Thank you for letting me share! Have a great day!

Open My Eyes, Bible Journaling by Shannon

Good morning, Shannon here sharing some bible journaling with you.

The message is actually from one of the songs we hear sometimes at mass. It tied in perfectly with the reflections I'm working through. Yes, that says March. I'm not good at the whole timely thing.

My go to in my bible journaling journey is SRM, I find myself reaching for all of the great stuff available time and time again.

Take a look at the entry and you'll see: Watercolor Twist Pencils,  Watercolor Pencils 12 Piece Set, Gel Reminisce Pens/White and a black Le Pen

Here's a close up on that owl, you can see the cool layers the watercolors create with their different mediums:

Fruits of Forgiveness Bible Journaling by Shannon

Hello!  Shannon here today to share some of my Bible Journaling.  I do this activity regularly.  It combines my love of the Lord and my artistic pursuits.

Today I'm taking on forgiveness.  Forgiveness is a tough one. It's supposed to set you free, take the weight off of you so you can move on, but it's so easy to get stuck in the same place.  I am guilty of it myself. There are people in my life that I can't forgive yet, that I am still angry at or with. I still feel wronged and betrayed. I'm here to tell you the that you have to keep working on it, working through it and know that you are forgiven first. It's part of your journey to love and be loved by others, even when it's hard. Go over your own failures, because it's easier to forgive those who have wronged you. You also have to remember that not everyone is for you, and that's ok. You can't please everyone. Nor are you supposed to. Surround yourself with people who lift others up, including you.

I'm sharing this entry with you, and as you can see, it's about forgiveness. The reading is Matthew 18: 21-35, it's worth the read.  I looked up the "color of forgiveness"..and was surprised to find it was yellow...and I thought yellow?!?!? What in the heck am I going to do with yellow?!? It's not a color I use at all. I made it work though, and SRM has a great selection of watercolor pencils available for shading and blending. I also have made good use of the new white gel pen too! It packs a significant punch, without being overbearing.  Thanks for taking a look today!

We invite you to join our Bible Journaling Journey Facebook Group and post your
Bible Journaling.

I created a card that I could make duplicates of, I'm sharing the layering process with you:

You can create a bunch of cards in a hurry so that you can have plenty on hand for graduates and grad parties! I of course had to use plenty of SRM Stickers! You'll find punched paper pieces, stickers and twine on the finished card. Take a look at how it turned out:

Lucky, Lucky Mack by Shannon

St. Patrick's Day is almost here!
In the Morgan house, that means shenanigans and all the beauty of the holiday. We celebrate dear St. Patrick, his life and works and we also celebrate being Irish, our heritage and our faith.
This layout, celebrates Miss Mackenzie Margaret Catherine (say that 5 times fast!) and the simple serendipity of being able to find Paczki's! (Yes, I know these are Polish, we're lucky enough to be Polish too!) This is a big thing! A big, simple thing!

SRM Stickers has so many awesome options for celebrating St. Paddy's Day available in the store, including some new items that are wonderful and versatile.

You'll find stickers, jute twine, twine, punched paper pieces, lace, bags and pens on this layout:

This layout is all about the details, I like to layer and add unexpected things. Here's a close up of the left hand corner:

The brand new lace is gorgeous! It folds and lays perfectly to create an elegant effect on this layout, it draws your eye right to Mack:

Here's hoping you have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day (if you celebrate)! "May the dreams you hold dearest be the ones which come true, and the kindness you spread keep returning to you!"

Erin Go Bragh!

Little Lamb Bible Journaling by Shannon

Bible Journaling is such a personal thing.  Each day many of our design team members spend time reflecting on Bible verses and then adding an illustration.  Today Shannon Morgan joins us with her personal thoughts and her beautiful artistry.

-------------------------

It's always an abrupt transition from preparing for the birth of Jesus to his adulthood and acceptance of what He's about to take on. This entry is still in the celebration of Christmas for my faith, yet here we are reading about John the Baptist declaring that Jesus is THE ONE!

My mind is still stuck in infant Jesus land and we're already reading about grown up Jesus. I couldn't help drawing a baby lamb, because as infinite as Jesus becomes, he was still a sweet, vulnerable, beautiful baby boy. Being a mom, I identify with this, I am looking up into my Paddy's face now and it seems just that fast...he was a baby and it seems to have flown by. I can't help but think of him as my baby. I can't help but think of Mary feeling this way, especially once she realized what Jesus was going to endure. As always, I remain thankful for Mary's yes and Jesus being strong enough to tell his Father in Heaven, yes.

I couldn't have drawn that sweet lamb quite the way I wanted to without a perfect white pen. SRM has just that pen. It's light when you need it to be, the lamby swirls, or heavy when you need it, bordered letters. Thank you for letting me share with you and I hope you are inspired today!

Renew The Love Within by Shannon

This may be a little late in the season to be sharing an Advent entry...but...the focus is right on time. I'm forever delayed on getting things done for myself on time.
Guys, I really wanted to be the person who completed my December Daily album (wait, what...yeah that didn't happen) and I wanted to do a daily Advent entry...cue the laughter reel, again hilarity ensues.
Anyone who knows me, knows I am incapable of saying no to a cry for help. Unless I have a bone protruding from my body somewhere or I am super ill, I will be there. This is what happened from August to December and is still ongoing. Guess what? I am more than ok with it, I am a helper, it's what I do. Yet there's that regret of not being able to focus on what I love most, creating. It's not my path at the moment. It's going to circle around. Which brings me to the relevance, on renewing the love. You deserve a few quiet moments to focus yourself each day, I'm working on loving myself a little bit this year. That means doing things that make me happy. Renewing the spirit inside myself so I can care and help others without feeling deflated. To help with renewed  joy and care.

So in a weird way, this Advent message is a Valentine/Love message to you. Renew the love within you, look to things with a smile instead of a frown. I know that's easier said than done and I am guilty of frowning myself. When you're stuck and unable to say yes...say a quick prayer to God to renew your spirit and help you to be cheerful, to love others and yourself.

This entry was incredibly easy to create, hearts are one of my favorite things, so it flowed out of me quite fluently. I used watercolor pencils, the wonderful new white pen and Le Pens for this entry. Thank you for letting me share with you.

From the Heart by Shannon

Good morning, Shannon here..sharing a Valentine's Day inspiration post with you.

In a world of digital everything, there's something to be said about a handmade card or note. When you take the time to send a heartfelt note, it can make all the difference in someone's day. ❤

I created some festive, fun Valentines using SRM stickers, doilies, twine, punched paper pieces and labels!

Take a look at the set of three below:

I love Stickers by the Dozen! They are ideal for invitations, thank you notes, greetings for family and friends. I am instantly transported to my childhood using doilies, how awesome are these Red Heart Lace Doilies?!?!?
Punched Paper Pieces add the perfect pop of color to these greetings.

SRM Labels by the Dozen can serve so many uses, as an actual label, a gift tag, or a super cute embellishment! A go to sticker for me in pretty much every project, Sticker Stitches...you can find them on 99% of my projects. The other one percent? I blame my children and their friends for horribly distracting me!

A Valentine wouldn't be a Valentine without a sweet sentiment, SRM has so many ways to express yourself, even the We've Got Your Border Stickers have sentiments and heartfelt wishes on them! And twine is always a perfect addition to anything ❤

Thank you for letting me share these sweet valentines with you today!

Luke 19 by Shannon

Hi, Shannon here. Sharing some bible journaling with you this wintery morning, and I promise, you'll identify with the message.

Luke 19, it's a fairly well known passage, it's about a tax collector named Zaccahaeus. Zaccaheaus isn't anyone special, in fact he's despised. People were not fans of the tax collectors back in the time of Jesus. However, by the end of the reading, Zaccaheaus is indeed special because he does something that we all struggle with daily. He lets go. He gives it to God. He also is able to discern that he needs to repent and do acts of good works. He also acknowledges what is wrong within him and begs forgiveness. It's hard to admit when you're wrong...but sometimes you are, I am, we all are! We have to admit this to ourselves and work on this each and every day. Somedays are successful and others we fail miserably, but don't stop trying! Keep going! ❤

There are so many ways to journal in your bible, some people use word art, others can draw beautifully, some can sketch..others doodle, keep journaling and never worry that yours doesn't look like someone else, comparison is the thief of joy. ❤

I used some great stuff available from SRM for this page, you can see the products I used below!

Written on Our Hearts by Shannon

Hi, Shannon here on this chilly morning, hope this entry finds you well wherever you are. ♥

I love Bible Journaling and want to share my latest entry with you.  It's a perfect reflection for this most beautiful time of year.

The words of God are written on our hearts. Sometimes they are super hard to hear because there is so much stuff in the way. I hope you take time to find quiet and listen. It is only then that you can hear Him. You can certainly pray for guidance and discernment too. He is always speaking to us, we just have to listen and go with our conscience. You've got this, sending you love and peace in any chaos you are facing in your lives.

I cannot tell you how much I love working with the watercolors that Susan carries. They cover however you need them to..they can be opaque or not..it's all in the application, and they blend so well. It's so easy to be inspired by the colors available in the sets.

I am thankful to design for Susan and share with you. Thank you for stopping in and checking out the blog today!

Share Joy Tags by Shannon

Shannon here with another tag set sure to help you get in the spirit to spread joy this season!

Handmade tags are such an easy way to convey love, in this crazy world, it's so hard to get wrapped up in ourselves. Taking a few minutes to make something for someone else is actually a gift to them...and to you. You took time to give to someone else and put them first. You in turn, took time for you, to slow down and work on something that brings you happiness.

Make sure you do that this time of year. Slow down and enjoy. Find happy in each day!

Be Merry Tags by Shannon

Are you looking for festive gift tag ideas? Shannon here to share some gift worthy tags with you using SRM!

There are so many ways to create tags, the possibilities really are endless. I created these tags with traditional gift wrap in mind. You can always use tags too...last minute gifts that pop up, tags are great for wrapping around a hostess gift or a teacher gift...or for that oddly shaped gift we always seem to have that is hard to wrap!

I took a picture of each tag for you so you could see that even though some of the designs are the same, they all turn out to be uniquely their own tag. Handmade really is bestmade. ♥

You'll find a bunch of SRM Products tucked here and there on these tags!

Thanks for looking!
Hope I have inspired you to create some tags for your friends and family also!

♩Good Day Sunshine! ♫ by Shannon

Hello!  Shannon here today!
I was totally listening to The Beatles while creating this card set...can you tell?
I created a set of friendship inspired cards using a multitude of SRM Stickers products!

Here's a closer shot of each of the cards in no particular order. I love the new Burlap Ribbon, it is a perfect way to add dimension and texture to your projects.

New stamp alert! You'll see some of the new stamps in this card, but maybe used in a way you wouldn't think to do, as a subtle background instead of a big sentiment...but that's perfectly ok too!  Hint:  Just Believe

SRM has so many stickers for so many occasions, you can combine them and they work so well together, I used Thinking of You Sentiment Stickers and Wishing You Well Sentiment Stickers in the card below.

There's a great new stamp available, Trust in the Lord and it has a bunch of great sentiments and accents that you can add to your cards, layouts, projects, bible journaling, etc! I used the tiny crosses as a background.

Thank you for letting me share some sunshine with you today!
