Hooray... Happy Birthday Card by Jennifer

Hello! My name is Jennifer Powell and I am very excited to be one of the new faces on the design team. I am a busy stay at home momma to three kiddos and one very sweet little dog...oh and I can't forget my very understanding husband. Northwest Iowa is the place we have called home for the last eight years. I am a lover of all things coffee, Bible journaling, planning, homeschooling, and making my everyday life a little more beautiful and crafty. I am so looking forward to playing, posting and hopefully providing fun inspiration to get you all up and crafting!

Today I am sharing a birthday card.
I was inspired by the background plaid paper and knew right away I wanted to create a more rugged masculine card. I had these fun wooden star pieces that added to the woodsy feel I was trying to create. I stamped the 'Happy Birthday to you' in a very subtle black and embossed it to create texture. After stamping the word 'Hooray' on the banner in StazOn ink I thought it need just a small punch of color so in came the cute twine bow.

On the inside of the card I used the leftover pieces from the front background paper as well as a SRM birthday clear sticker

I had so much fun using this Birthday Plans stamp on my card!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a crafty day!

Birthday Celebration by Lesley

Look who's back!  It's Lesley Croghan with her beautiful creations.  So happy to have her back on the SRM All Star Team.

Now let's hear from Lesley in her own words…

*****
Hello SRM fans! Lesley Croghan excited to be here with my first design team post as a returning member of the SRM Design Team! Today I am sharing a little "birthday purse" and matching birthday card I made for my best friend! I used Say it with Stickers/Birthday to decorate my card and Purse-Small, which is a party favor container found in the SRM online store.

SRM Stickers Blog - Birthday Celebration by Lesley - #birthday #giftset #card #stickers #clearpurse #solidtwine #giftset #DIY

I filled the "small purse" with some Double Bubble bubble gum! Yum!

SRM Stickers Blog - Birthday Celebration by Lesley - #birthday #giftset #card #stickers #clearpurse #solidtwine #giftset #DIY

I also used some Solid Mandarin Twine and a little strip of designer paper. The little gift stickers are easy to use. All I did was stick them on some white paper and then punched them out with my 1" square punch.

For the card, I used the same designer paper; adding some more of the Say it with Stickers/Birthday stickers and Solid Mandarin Twine.

Can't wait to give this special set to my friend!  Hope that you've been inspired to make something special for someone you know with a birthday coming up!

Birthday Kraft Boxes by Shantaie

Hello and Happy Birthday from Shantaie! Well .....it doesn't have to be your birthday today to celebrate one of the newest products here at SRM Kraft Boxes in all new stack-able sizes! I LOVE kraft gift containers because they are the perfect neutral canvas to use for literally any occasion!  I added a paper ribbon and bow and a trio of patterned papers to the front of each box.

SRM Stickers Blog - Birthday Kraft Boxes by Shantaie - #birthday #kraftboxes #stickers #twine #punchedpieces

To add a fun message I used a sticker on each box on alternating sides, for the "happy birthday" I relied on one of my all time favorites Happy Birthday Sentiments and for the make a wish I used  We've Got Your Sticker Happy.

SRM Stickers Blog - Birthday Kraft Boxes by Shantaie - #birthday #kraftboxes #stickers #twine #punchedpieces

It goes without saying that every package needs a tag, and we have (in my opinion) the most adorable scallop circles called Punched Pieces to create tags with! I added a cupcake sticker also from We've got your sticker "Happy"  and tied up with some striped bakers Twine in honeydew. Gift presentation complete!

Thanks for stopping in today and celebrating the kraft box with me!  As you can see we are ready to help you throw your best party yet! Where to start? Kraft boxes of course. They are amazing for party favors, and for your gift giving too!

Mini Calendar Shaker Card by Shantaie

How's it shakin'? Shantaie Fowler here with a really fun way to use our mini calendars that will be as much fun for you as it will for the lucky one who gets the card!

SRM Stickers Blog - Mini Calendar Shaker Card by Shantaie - #birthdaycard #birthday #shakercard #minicalendar #stickers #twine #DIY #srmpress #srmstickers

Cut a fun shape with a window to see the Mini Calendar of the birth month inside, mark the birthday with a sticker, a stamp or a little confetti hat like I have done with this one. Fill the shaker with sequins, beads, and chunky glitter. I used my Silhouette to cut out this cupcake, but there are lots of ways to make a window if you don't have an ecutter. Dies, (like our wafer die) punches, and good old fashioned scissors will all work just fine!

SRM Stickers Blog - Mini Calendar Shaker Card by Shantaie - #birthdaycard #birthday #shakercard #minicalendar #stickers #twine #DIY #srmpress #srmstickers

I looked to my SRM stash for a few decorative elements to "top off" my cupcake and added a sweet heart from Valentines Stickers by the Dozen to a scrap of white card stock and trimmed it out and popped it right on top of the glittered "icing"  I also used the Valentines We've Got Your Border for the little flag banner and trim in between my washi tape.

To give the cupcake "wrapper" texture I embossed it with a striped folder and added a sticker from the Birthday Stickers by the Dozen ....can you tell I love these;)  Bright, cheerful and fun to personalize, mini calendars just may be the next shakin' trend in shaker cards!

Mini Birthday Box with Tags by Cathy H.

Hello from Cathy Harper!  I have a fun little box full of Birthday Tags to share with you today.  I created this little gift to add to a friend's Birthday Box.  It's a way for her to have Birthday tags to add to presents right at her fingertips.  I used SRM's Clear Rectangle Box to hold my tags and decorated it with Birthday Take 2 StickersBlack Sticker Stitches, and a medium teal Punched Piece.  I just adhered the stickers around the bottom of the box and added a bit of yellow washi tape for more color.  Next, I created a paper bow using my Silhouette Cameo and tied it together with Maraschino Baker's Twine and added the scalloped punch tag!

SRM Stickers Blog - by Cathy Harper - #stickers #birthday #box #cards

Adorable! Next up, I created all the little tags and envelopes to fill my box, again using my Silhouette Cameo.

SRM Stickers Blog - by Cathy Harper - #stickers #birthday #box #cards

I made a set of six tags to go inside, all using the same tag and envelope.  I just alternated patterned papers!  All of the tags are decorated with Birthday Take 2 stickers and Medium Scalloped Punched Pieces in different coordinating colors.

SRM Stickers Blog - by Cathy Harper - #stickers #birthday #box #cards

Once my tags were all tucked inside the mini envelopes, I added a button with a Maraschino Baker's Twine bow to each envelope! Before I filled the little box I added some yellow crinkle paper for a pop more color.  Now my friend has a stash of Birthday tags to add to her gifts.

I love how this little gift turned out and I might even make her a set of Christmas Tags.

SRM Stickers Blog - by Cathy Harper - #stickers #birthday #box #cards

Wouldn't it be fun to have a whole row of these little boxes, full of tags for all of your gift giving occasions?  Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back again soon for lots more SRM inspiration!

Happy Birthday Combo by Lesley

Lesley Croghan had lots of fun playing with her new SRM birthday goodies and mini clear boxes.   Lesley made a mini-birthday card set and a matching card.  She loved the idea of making a nice gift for a friend who is always needing birthday cards.

SRM Stickers Blog - Happy Birthday Combo by Lesley - #birthday #stickers #borders #pencils #clear #box

SRM's new Take 2 - Birthday stickers are such fun to play with.  With the colorful Happy Birthday circle stickers and matching borders, there are so many things you can do with them.  Lesley created 3 mini cards and a matching clear box and still has enough stickers to make 2 more set of these little beauties!

Love the simple matching birthday card that Lesley made to go with this set.  Easy peasy and oh such fun!  The solid Caribbean twine is perfect for this card.  And as a little added bonus, Lesley included a Happy Birthday pencil that she can tie on the outside of the gift box.

Birthday Celebration by Corri

Here's some birthday treats from Corri Garza that are featured in the SRM booth this week at CHA!  Corri loves vinyl and she's made a card and a treat box both featuring SRM's new vinyl!  How fun!

On her card Corri cut out the word "Celebrate" using SRM's white vinyl.  Love how it stands out on the bright red background.

And Corri topped off the card using some borders from SRM's new Take 2 - Birthday Stickers by the Dozen.

Then Corri created a treat box decorating it with a festive party hat made out of vinyl.  She topped off the box with a "happy birthday" sticker from SRM's new Take 2 Birthday design and tied it off with solid twine in red, white and blue!  Corri used SRM's rectangular clear box for this project and filled it with multi colored gum balls.  Yum!

Put them together and you have a wonderful gift set!

Little Purse & Card by Yvonne

Yvonne Yam loves SRM's small clear purses.  She decided to make a Gift Set decorating the purse and creating a matching card.

She started with the small clear purse from SRM.

First she embossed the gift bag then covered the front and back with some Graphic 45 patterned paper. Then she adhered some SRM Fancy Borders from the Fancy Happy Birthday Sentiment sheet. Yvonne applied some PearlEx all over for a shimmering effect. And as a finishing touch, she added some pearls and twine.

On her card base Yvonne first embossed the card stock.  She then added the patterned paper. She adhered the Fancy Happy Birthday Sentiment and decorative fancy border, added a layer of PearlEx to create the shimmering effect matching the gift bag and added pearls to coordinate with her purse.

Here's the Fancy Birthday Sticker Sentiment she used on both the purse and the card.

And here's a look at the gift set.  So beautiful!

Thanks Yvonne for all the inspiration!  What a great idea to make some of these sets in advance and tuck them away for little birthday treats.

Birthday Wishes by Lesley

Today we feature Lesley Croghan.  We are so excited to have her on the team!  Did you know that Lesley was one of the Top 5 in this year's Gallery Idol?  Way to go Lesley!

Lesley absolutely LOVES the clear boxes and especially the clear purses from SRM.  For her, using these little purses is a quick and easy way to create a fun and playful birthday gift for a friend.  For her project, Lesley used the medium sizes clear purse

In creating her project Lesley used a new technique called "Freestyle Collage" where you gather unrelated items and put them together on your project.  She used a clear sentiments "WISH" from the We've Got Your Sticker Happy set.

Needing a card to go with her gift, Lesley decided to keep it simple.  She embossed the white card stock, used some punches to create the red flower and white circle and then used SRM's Stickers by the Dozen birthday design for the cupcake image and the "happy birthday" sentiment.

What a perfect pair! And Lesley said that the "best part about his clear box medium purse is the fact that her David's Tea packets fit perfectly!"  I'll bet she will be using this idea again when she needs to create a quick gift!

Did you know that SRM has 20 different containers from which to choose?  Take a look at all of them HERE!

A Trio of Cards by Virginia

WINNER ALERT!  See all winners at bottom of this post!

--------------------

Virginia Lu loves her SRM Sticker Sentiments.  We asked all our designers to choose their favorite SRM product and here's what Virginia said:  "SRM sentiments are truly fabulous in complimenting any stamper's style! I love how each font enhances the aesthetic design of the card." And how we love seeing SRM Sentiments on so many of Virginia's cards!

Here's a trio of birthday cards from Virginia using a variety of different SRM Sentiment products. All 3 cards Virginia created for us today are stamped.  Now Virginia is a stamper but once she discovered SRM Sticker Sentiments Virginia loves to create her stamped image and finish her card off with a SRM sticker sentiment.

First up is a card using a Fancy Sticker Sentiment, birthday design.  So beautiful  and delicate!

For her next card, Virginia chose a mini sentiment from the Birthday Stickers by the Dozen.  This mini sentiment surrounds the 12 sticker images that are perfect for invites or party favors.  How sweet this card is!

And for her last card, Virginia chose the "Happy BIRTHDAY" sentiment from SRM's Stickers by the Dozen Birthday.  There are 12 of these sentiments on one sheet.  Think of all the cards you can make!  I love the delicate flowers and the perfectly placed bling.  And I love the way Virginia created a beautiful banner to highlight her Sticker Sentiment.

Thank you Virginia for your beautiful work and for your love of SRM Stickers.  We have loved having you on our 2011 Design Team and again on our 2013 Mini Term Team.  You are a joy to work with and your work is stunning!

Pillow Boxes by Deana

Always looking for a clever way to package gifts, Deana Boston loves SRM's new Pillow Boxes!  The first box is decorated from top to bottom using SRM's Sticker Stitches.  How fun!  Deana then embellished the box with a few die-cut butterflies and added a "make a wish" sentiment.  Inside is a SRM Glassine Bag to hold a gift card.

On her second gift Pillow Box Deana embossed it, added a big, beautiful flower and one of SRM's Labels by the Dozen Pastel with a "Make a Wish" sentiment affixed to it.  Again, she put a Glassine bag inside to hold a gift card.

Do you know that Deana has a Gift Wrapping station in her craft room?  I wonder if SRM's new Pillow Boxes and Glassine bags have a special spot?  I bet they do!

Trio of Cards by Michelle

Michelle Bertuzzi is very busy with 3 kids and moving to a new house but she still has time for some crafting! :)  Before she packed away all of her crafting supplies for her move, she created a few cards.

First up Michelle needed a gift and a card for a boy's birthday party.  So she created this gift card holder/card using SRM's Glassine Bag, Sticker Stitches and Birthday sentiments.  The BRRR is from the Winter Sticker Sentiments sheet.  That's totally fun!

Here's a beautifully embossed card that Michelle made for one of her son's teachers who had been particularly thoughtful.  Love how the embossing matches the sentiment.  Lots of Thank-You's embossed on this special card including a Fancy Thank You Sentiment from SRM!

And finally Michelle loves to make cards and tuck them into her kid's lunch boxes.  She calls her sons "Sunshine".  Her soon to be 7 year old loves finding these special cards and tags and pays attention to details so Michells is sure he's going to love the embossed background.  Who wouldn't?  That "Hello Sunshine" sentiment is from SRM's Life is Good Sticker Sentiments.

Thanks for all the inspiration Michelle.  We know that you have your hands full but there's always time for crafting, right?

Fiskars Focus Day #2 - Sherry Cartwright

Welcome to day #2 of a 3 day celebration!  How fun to combine SRM Stickers and Fiskars fabulous products!  Remember for this celebration Fiskars designers are featured on the SRM Blog and SRM designers are featured on the Fiskars Blog.  Today's featured Fiskars designer is Sherry Cartwright!

Here's a bit about Sherry in her own words:

"I have long been a crafting, gluing together odd and end pieces of construction paper, pom poms and yarn for as long as I can remember.  Now, I am doing the same.  Playing with pretty craft products and sticking them altogether for memories sake.  And for fun.

I grew up in a family of crafters and hope to pass my love of pretty papers, fibers, flowers and stickers to my own family.   We are creative group of two cute K-kiddos, my artsy fartsy husband and myself living a wondramous life in an old country home in the middle of rural central Texas.   By day, I am a paper pusher of procedures and publications, but by night I push around pretty patterned papers, stickers and a bottle of glue.   Seriously, I am a madwoman ---- momma, wife, Cub Scout den leader, boo-boo kisser, reading buddy, dishwasher, homework mentor, friend, toilet scrubber, paper crafter, craft buddy, sister, mess picker-upper, memory recorder, sword fighter, hip-hip-hoorayer and artist."

When Sherry received her stash of SRM Stickers and Containers she grabbed some of her favorite Fiskars tools and went to work!  Here's what Sherry says

"This clear pillow box was calling for a clever filling.  After debating for awhile what to fill it with [dollars or coins], I chose coins merely on their shiny surface.  I wrapped twine around the box several times so that it would be wide enough for the border sticker.  Then, I attached the hat circle sticker to patterned paper and punched with circle."

Sherry clearly LOVES the clear containers from SRM!  She loves all the possibilities of what you can do with them!

For her next "happy" project, Sherry used a clear 7" TUBE, some SRM Borders, SRM Birthday Sticker Sentiments, Marigold Twine, Glitter and Fiskars Cloud Squeeze Punch, large and extra large.

"These little tubes can be filled with so many different things.  For this one, I filled it with extra long rainbow candles and some yellow glitter.  The tag was made by using two different size cloud punches, punching small holes, then tying with twine.   The sentiment was for birthday, but I cut just happy day to fit on the cloud and used the dots as a border."

Just in time for summer, for her next project Sherry used a SRM Glassine Bag to organize her picnic utensils and serve as table decor as well!  For this project Sherry used SRM's Patriotic Stickers by the Dozen and We've Got Your Border, some Maraschino twine and a trio of Fiskars punches:  Jenni Bowlin Quilt Star Squeeze Punch, Round 'n Round Punch and Seal of Approval Squeeze Punch.  Here's what Sherry tells us about her Stars & Stripes project:

"Summertime picnics are always better when they are dressed in red, white and blue --- with SRM and Fiskars, too.  Before heading out, package your silverware in a glassine bag.  For this particular bag, I decorated with patriotic papers, then added border stickers.  I punched two quilt stars, then folded one to add dimension.  Both were attached with a flocked brad."

FYI...The bag is filled with:

• a fan-folded paper towel, trimmed at an angle on the end,
• fork, spoon, knife
• straw, decorated with punched quilt stars and a scalloped circle
• small skewer with flag attached
• extra long toothpick decorated with fringed pattered paper

This is sure to be the star of the show!

And for her final project, Sherry decided to make an Everyday Life mini album using SRM's Glassine Bags and lots of SRM clear stickers including the Everyday Life sticker that was perfect for this project.  Sherry says "I *love* using the glassine bags as a base.  So very cool and versatile."  Here's the cover of her mini album and a few of the interior pages.

In addition to the fabulous SRM Glassine Bags used in this mini album, so many different SRM Stickers were used too!  Can you see the Birthday Borders, the Sticker Stitches and the Birthday Sentiments on this pair of pages?

I spy SRM Labels by the Dozen on this page with a "Love" Fancy Sticker Sentiment.

To see this totally fabulous mini album in its entirety, check out Sherry's blog

And here's what Sherry has to say about SRM Stickers:

"Thank you, SRM Stickers for affording me this opportunity to make a creative mess and some loveliness with your awesome products.  You make the crafty world a better place!"

Thank you Sherry for your inspiration and wonderful projects.  We love them all!  Now be sure to hop on over to the Fiskars Blog today where SRM's Corrie Jones is creating with Fiskars and SRM Sticker products.
