Add Subtle Color With Water Color Pencils by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here with you today. There are so many fun ways to use water color pencils. Today I'm sharing how to add subtle color with water color pencils to your cards and embellishments.

For this card I used the Bible Margins Love stamp set, ColorIn Water Color PencilsA 4" White Doily, gray ink, and some coordinating patterned paper.

I love water color pencils, because you can get a soft, subtle color that can be tricky to get from other mediums (like markers). You can also blend 2 or 3 pencils together to get just the right color, like I did for my shade of peachy pink.

On the far right, you can see the peach marker (which was just too peach for what I wanted), the pink in the center was too bright, so I colored the peach first, overlaid it with the pink, and blended it with just the tiniest bit of water, to get the soft peach pink you see on the far left.

You can even add subtle color with water color pencils to embellishments like doilies. So the next time you need a soft touch of color, reach for your ColorIn Water Color pencils!

Coffee Plans Gift Idea by Angie

Hello SRM friends! Angie here with you today to share a cute gift card holder using the Coffee Plans stamps!

I started with the medium kraft pillow box. I used the coffee plans stamps and some brown ink to stamp different images and words all over the pillow box. I heat embossed the 'But first, coffee' sentiment using Versamark ink and black embossing powder.

I tied some black jute twine around the end of the pillow box
and added a tag.

I wanted to make the enclosed gift card a little more fancy, so I wrapped it in a
doily and then added a 'Just for you' sticker and some more jute twine

This gift idea was so quick and easy--and it's super cute! Any coffee lover would love it!

Patterned bags by Giorgia Rossini

Hello!  Susan here to let you know that this is the week that our new design team begins it's term.  And today is also my birthday and I though what better way to celebrate it than with beautiful patterned bags from new design team member Giorgia Rossini.  She has a soft and dreamy style and she is loving her SRM.  So let's get started introducing you to Giorgia and her beautiful work.  To learn more about Georgia check out a short bio at the end of this post.

Hello SRM friends, Giorgia here with my first DT project and I am so happy to be with you!

I am here to share a quick and easy birthday treat bag project. Me and my best friends all have birthdays in the summer, almost a week from one another, so we celebrate all together with a dinner out. This year I wanted to create something special for them, so I created these lithe packages using SRM bags.

Each bag contained a magnet and some sweets.  Since the magnet has some ceramic elements, I wrapped it with bubble paper embellished with labels by the dozen birthday stickers

I also added handwritten wishes with Le Pen 4 Piece Set - Dark Colors.

I used a SRM white lace doily to close the bag, folded it in a half to fit around the bag and then I decorated it with SRM products. I used a punched piece and added a sticker from the sentiment/love sheet on top. I added a small bow made with light pink jute. I often use a staple to hold embellishments down, since it adds texture and that little extra. Then I added stickers from We've Got Your Border/Birthday and Stickers By The Dozen/Birthday. As a final touch I added a sequin to make it sparkle!

For the green chevron patterned bag I used the same design, changing colors and stickers.  I layered a cute Stickers By The Dozen/Birthday Birdie on a  punched pieceadded a small bow made with light blue jute and completed the bag with We've Got Your Border/Birthday stickers and Stickers By The Dozen/Birthday. Again, I added a sparkling sequin!

I am in love with these bags!  They are perfect for gifts, treats or just because!  What would you do with them?

Until next time,
ciao, Giorgia

Lovely Lace Card by Tobi

Hello!  Tobi joining you today with a lovely lace wedding card.

What is more elegant than lace?
The word "lace" conjures so many words in my mind,
most prominent of which are:
love, wedding, sexy, delicate, sophisticated and classic.

This card embodies all of those words:

I paired black lace with a white doily, and built my card around that. A monotone color scheme keeps this card classic and timeless, and the SRM stickers pair beautifully with all of the other elements.

Triangle Treat Box for Spring from Michele!

Good morning! Michele here with a Triangle treat box!
I love this little clear box all ready to be filled with sweet treats! I folded a doily over the back half of the triangle box to sort of "ground" my eggs.

The eggs were cut from a die and given color with the Watercolor Twist Pencils.   I then applied a thin layer of glossy accents over the eggs and sprinkled it with a clear coarse glitter.  I adhered the eggs to the box with dimensional foam tape.

The sentiment is from the Spring collection. I tied black and white twine and adhered it to the corner of the sentiment.  As a final touch, I placed a gemstone in the center of the bow.

All that is left to do, is fill it up with some candy!
Have a great day friends!

Love.Joy.Peace.Patience.Kindness by Shelly

Hey y'all! Shelly, here!

Today I'm sharing a simple and sweet set of cards with you!

I started with making my cards. Which I chose use a kraft cardstock base, along with SRM's Just Believe stamps. I stamped the 'sentiments/border' to go around my card and then stamped the flower in the middle. After I used markers with the blender pen to color my flowers.

Once done, I added envelopes to my set of cards and used some white jute burlap twine to hold it all together.

I then placed the set in a glassine bag and added it inside a kraft window box. Next, I added some burlap ribbon around the box. To top things off, I added a white doily with a sticker and piece of jute burlap twine.

A quick and sweet little set of cards, don't you say?!...

Mr. & Mrs. Doily Card by Shantaie

Hi, I'm Shantaie, as one of the designers here at SRM I find myself continually seeking to "reinvent the wheel" as the saying goes. The new and innovative use of products is literally my job, but sometimes a classic in an unexpected color is just the ticket.

Weddings are often thought of in whites and pastels, but a bold sophisticated black is stunning paired with a doily and a few sequins!

I topped the doily with a round take 2 stickers by the dozen wedding sticker in the center, and added a single row border from the same wedding sticker sheet. The simplest little twine bow is placed just above the border....because I love the softness of a little bit of twine!

To place the sequins I just dropped a small handful of metallic neutrals and glued them exactly where they fell, easy and random!

I love that this wedding card could also double as an anniversary card, and is clean and simple enough to make in a hurry and still have time to wrap a gift before dashing out the door! :)

Graduation Party by Shantaie

Hi, and welcome back to SRM, I'm Shantaie signing in with a gold and glamorous graduation party!

My niece is graduating in a few weeks, she wants her event to be memorable, and unique!  The best part of being a paper crafter is being able to customize premade items, like these cards I picked up at the dollar spot in Target. A few little details and a sheet of SRM thank you stickers I can make a dozen thank you cards for her to send after the party!

Need fast easy cards? just add the Thank you sentiment, and they are ready to go!

No party is a party without a cake or cupcakes! These cupcake toppers are quick because I picked up the pleated circles as part of a banner package, there were 8 for 3.00 and all I did was add a gold banner, and the SRM round sticker by the dozen take 2 graduation stickers and a stick to insert into the cupcake. These literally took 15 minutes total!

Super sweet right?

Invitations are the "headliner" to any party, and as we are doing a casual glamorous party, these simple but elegant cards are perfection! I love the fun 2016 sticker under the gold embossed graduation cap, a quick peel and stick and they are ready to go!

What could be more easy? You are going to love these SRM invitation inserts, all the info you need is ready to fill in. Quick and simple!

I used the chevron embossed glassine treat bags and filled them with chocolates of gold and lavender that match the party. They are folded closed, and topped with a doily and layers of ribbon and paper flags, and sealed with a clothespin. A luxurious gold tassel is adorned with a 2016 sticker tag, and the flag to the left is sporting a sticker sentiment from the graduation stickers by the dozen take 2.

All the elements to get a party started, right here. SRM has stickers, treat containers, and all the happy additions you need to make a party both easy and gorgeous!

Thank You Annette!!

Today we are celebrating an end and a beginning!  Sad to let you know that Annette Allen, who has been on our team for the past 2 years, is moving on to new adventures.  But she assures me that she will continue to use and love her SRM!  So I will be featuring her in our Flickr Fridays from time to time or maybe even as a guest designer. :)

I have loved working with Annette.  She is so talented and such a wonderful person… so energetic and can do.  We have been blessed to have her with us.

Here's a card from Annette that's all about celebration and she's used a SRM Doily as the base for her stamped creations.  If you look closely at Annette's work, you will often find one of her favorite SRM products.

Thank you Annette!
We love you and know that we will be seeing you soon!

XOXO

Clearly the Best by Shantaie

Hello my crafty darlings, Shantaie here with a Mother's day (or anyday) gift idea for someone special in your life. I treasure so many of the Mother figures that have graced my life over the years, as well as countless dear friends that uplifted me in various ways so that I could be a better Mother to my girls (and all my many "adopted" teens over the years).  Motherhood and Mothering are lifelong jobs, so a sweet little gift seems in order don't you think? :)

I started with a clear purse box and added a gold dotty vellum panel in the back, I began layering with a 4" white doily and a floral frame. A little swirled circle, and a die cut flower sit just behind a floral printed paper flower, and those two ribbons creating the perfect place for the greeting using mothers day express yourself stickers.

I left this gift box empty to allow me to fill it later with a gift later, and to allow you to decide what you can fill yours with! Chocolate, gift cards, or a pretty bracelet are some of my favorites! ;)

Thanks for dropping by!  Have a crafty day!

Rain or Shine Thank You Card by Juliana

Hi everyone! It's Juliana here with you and today I'm sharing a Thank You card I made using the adorable Jane's Doodles Rain or Shine stamp set. I love all of the spring themed stamps that are part of this set and I thought it would be super fun to combine the adorable rain boots with the little flower bouquet.

I stamped the images on smooth white cardstock and then colored them in using colored pencils. To help with blending the color, I used Gamsol and a paper stump. I then fussy cut the rain boots and the two bouquets of flowers. I wanted to the card to have a little dimension so I used double sided adhesive to adhere one of the boots and one of the bouquets. I then mounted everything on a SRM Stickers 4" white doily before attaching it to the card front.

Thanks for dropping by and Happy Spring!
