Halloween Gift Bags by Laurel

Welcome to Holiday week here on the SRM Blog where you will find inspiration for Halloween and Christmas projects.  You won't want to miss a day!  So sit back and relax and be prepared for great ideas!

Laurel Seabrook joins us today with some quick and easy Halloween Gift Bags that are perfect for holding a few little goodies. Laurel loves to slip a gift card for Starbucks into little bags for her girls.  Laurel starts out with some of SRM's Glassine Bags and creates each panel to fit on the front, doing her sewing and adding embellishments.  Then she adheres the panels to the front of the bags.  Laurel adds some SRM stickers from the We've Got Your Border Halloween along with some Twinery Twine.  Laurel loves how these bags went together so very easily!

Laurel cuts a SRM Halloween border sticker apart to create separate words, inspired by subway art that is all the rage.  The spider is cut with her Silhouette.

On this card the border sticker runs along a tag and then is embellished with some sequins.  How fun!

Another Silhouette cut spider and the words once again cut from the border sticker.

Finally another quick and easy card, using a few punches and a sticker sentiment again from the Halloween Border set.

Thanks for the inspiration Laurel.  I love the idea of making decorative panels to dress up Glassine Bags.  What a clever idea!

Join us tomorrow for another "spooky" project from Latrice!  It's a treat!

Mixed Media Table Decor by Angélique

When Angélique Jarrier creates a project, she loves to make them 3-D and she loves to make things from scratch that are completely out of the ordinary.  How amazing is this latest project; a decorative guitar that doubles as a picture frame. Angélique made this project entirely out of cardboard.  She covered the cardboard with papers and of course with lots of SRM Stickers!

Angélique's daughter loves to play the guitar so Angélique decided to create this piece as a focal point for her daughter's surprise party.  Angélique found lots of pieces for this guitar at a flea market:  the strings, bridge, tuning pegs and fret.  They all came from old guitars and ukuleles.

She used SRM's Everyday Girl sticker on the front an back of her guitar.

And  Angélique used lots of SRM Border Stickers to decorate her creation from top to bottom.

What a fun way to display a photo.

This guitar served as a centerpiece during the party and now serves as a decoration in the bedroom of her daughter.

And here are the SRM Stickers that Angélique used on her project.

What a lucky girl to have a talented mom like Angélique!

Halloween Treat Container by Shelly

The little clear purse from SRM is one of our most popular containers and Shelly Kurth decided that it was perfect for some Halloween treats!  How sweet it is!

Shelly used SRM's Stickers by the Dozen Spider on this project and some Twinery Charcoal Twine.

I love how she added some cotton to her diecut black cardstock tree making it particularly spooky!

Here's the sticker that Shelly used.  Just think, you can make 12 of these treat purses from just one sticker.

And here are the instructions on how to create this darling purse.  Enjoy!

1. Use SRM treat container.
2. Use dies with  colored cardstock (add sticker to the oval die cut).
3. Cut a piece of black cardstock into a long rectangle.
4. Adhere black rectangle to middle of container.
5. Add orange oval (with foam squares on back), over the rectangle.
6. Add black 'trees' to oval (adhere the back tree down on the oval and use foam squares on the top tree).
7. Add cotton to trees and around the top of the oval.
8. Add black pearls to oval.
9. Adhere sticker to top of the container.
10. Using two pieces of twine, wrap around handle and tie in a bow (cut twine to your liking).

EEK!  This is too cute!  Think I've got to make me some of these! :)

Thanksgiving Mini Cards and Gift Bag by Lesley

Using 2 basic Thanksgiving stickers from SRM, Lesley Croghan has created a beautiful set of Thanksgiving Mini Cards and Gift Bag.  She is so talented and this idea is perfect for the upcoming fall season and this post is full of inspiration!

Here's the 2 stickers that Lesley used: Thanksgiving Say it With Stickers and Fall Say it with Stickers.

Lesley wanted to create mini cards that would fit in SRM's Kraft 4" x 6" bags! That way she can give little gifts which could be placed on a dinner plate at the Thanksgiving dinner table! You can fill the bag with any small token or favor.  I love the burlap on the kraft cardstock.

The look she achieved is rustic and cozy and perfect for the season.  And I love the touch of Twinery Twine.

Once she has her cards ready, Lesley creates a warm and cozy gift bag to match the look and feel of her cards.  Love how the Kraft bag is like an artist's palette, ready to be transformed.

Lesley tucked a treat inside each bag and then attached one of her cards on the outside.  How clever!

Thanks Lesley for giving us such a great idea for the upcoming season.  What a Thanksgiving treat these cards and bags are!

Mixed Media Layout Tutorial by Yvonne

Yvonne Yam is a Mixed Media expert and today she's treating us to one of her fabulous layouts along with a tutorial on how to create it.

Yvonne loves SRM Stickers and anything inky!  Here's how she created her layout.

She started with a stencil, watercolor paper/white card stock and some mist colors to create the background.  For this layout she actually used the misted stencil as a stamp so her background is the negative print of the stencil you see.  Brilliant!

Then Yvonne decided on photo placement. She chose a grid format, then added a "frame" for the top and bottom of the grid. The text was cut using her Cameo.

Now it's time to start adding her SRM Stickers.  Here are the stickers she used.

Yvonne likes to print a white border on her photos creating the perfect spot for her SRM Stickers.  Because the stickers are clear they fit perfectly on any surface.

The last step is to add more interest and texture to the layout. Some stars were added to the background with a stencil and distress inks. A swirl silicone embellishment was painted it with the same orange mist used in the background and added to anchor the grid. Glossy accents were added to the happy birthday text for some dimension. She also included a chipboard speech bubble.  Love that touch!  She also added some SRM Sticker stars to her background.  Perfection!

And here's the finished layout.  What a beauty!  Love the SRM Sticker numbers added to each of the photos.  And the Sticker Borders and Sticker Stitches added to the bottom and both sides.

What a wonderful tutorial for creating mixed media layouts.  Are you ready to try making one yourself?  Be sure to drop by for more SRM Sticker inspiration.  You never know what our talented team is going to do next!

Halloween Mini Cards by Corri

It's Friday the 13th!  What better way to celebrate than with a few spooky cards?  Corri Garza has created a trio of mini Halloween cards using her Silhouette Cameo and a scallop square file from the Silhouette Store.  Corri welded the two shapes together to create the card base.  She then applied her SRM Stickers to a scallop circle and applied them to the card with foam dots for some dimension. Super easy and so much fun!

The black and white Charcoal Baker's Twine is perfect for this project.  Love the bright buttons as a simple embellishment to add more color and texture to the cards.

SRM's Stickers by the Dozen and Quick Cards are perfect for creating multiple cards.

SRM's Halloween Borders add a perfect "spooky" touch to 2 of Corri's cards.

These mini cards are just adorable and would make the perfect invites for a Halloween party.  SRM Stickers make it so easy to create multiples.

Made with Love Thanksgiving Layout by Juliana

Juliana Michaels has created a beautiful layout as a tribute to the fabulous homemade pumpkin and pecan pies that her Mom makes every year for Thanksgiving.

Juliana even included copies of her recipes and printed them on white cardstock.

She attached them to a tag and placed them inside one of SRM's  5" x 7 1/2 " Kraft Bags.

The orange Mandarin Twine is perfect for this project!

Juliana used a combination of SRM Thanksgiving stickers to create a word collage on her patterned paper. By doing this, she customized the already beautiful patterned paper.

Juliana placed another one of the SRM stickers on a strip of patterned paper and used it to create her title.

What a beautiful layout in celebration of a family tradition.
