Mixed Media Layout Tutorial by Yvonne

Yvonne Yam is a Mixed Media expert and today she's treating us to one of her fabulous layouts along with a tutorial on how to create it.

Yvonne loves SRM Stickers and anything inky!  Here's how she created her layout.

She started with a stencil, watercolor paper/white card stock and some mist colors to create the background.  For this layout she actually used the misted stencil as a stamp so her background is the negative print of the stencil you see.  Brilliant!

Then Yvonne decided on photo placement. She chose a grid format, then added a "frame" for the top and bottom of the grid. The text was cut using her Cameo.

Now it's time to start adding her SRM Stickers.  Here are the stickers she used.

Yvonne likes to print a white border on her photos creating the perfect spot for her SRM Stickers.  Because the stickers are clear they fit perfectly on any surface.

The last step is to add more interest and texture to the layout. Some stars were added to the background with a stencil and distress inks. A swirl silicone embellishment was painted it with the same orange mist used in the background and added to anchor the grid. Glossy accents were added to the happy birthday text for some dimension. She also included a chipboard speech bubble.  Love that touch!  She also added some SRM Sticker stars to her background.  Perfection!

And here's the finished layout.  What a beauty!  Love the SRM Sticker numbers added to each of the photos.  And the Sticker Borders and Sticker Stitches added to the bottom and both sides.

What a wonderful tutorial for creating mixed media layouts.  Are you ready to try making one yourself?  Be sure to drop by for more SRM Sticker inspiration.  You never know what our talented team is going to do next!
