Bible Margins Journaling and Video by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today with some Bible Journaling and a video too!

I'm loving the new Bible Margin Stamps and keep finding new ideas and ways to use them in and out of my Bible. Today I'm sharing a Bible Page using the Bible Margins - Light set.

I've double stamped and done a bit of fussy cutting to add extra color and pattern - and reflective time - to my Bible journaling. There may be a bit of sparkle, too!

I'll walk you through my entry in this quick video.

For this entry I used these great SRM products:

Blessed Are Card by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here with you to showcase one of my favorite SRM products: Bible Journaling Stamps. Today I have a blessed are sympathy card to share.

I used SRM's Blessed Are stamp set to create this card. Sympathy cards are never easy to create, so I always try to keep them clean and simple.

A simple combination of white and grey give this card a modern look. Grey keeps the card looking a bit softer than black ink.  A bit of embossing at the bottom of the card adds a little extra texture and interest.

While I chose words for after "Blessed are" that were appropriate for a sympathy card, there are other follow up words in this set that would be great for someone going on a service trip, someone going through a rough time, or someone needing some encouragement. What a versatile stamp set!

Walk by Faith Bible Journaling & Card by Karen

Part of the process for me as I Bible journal is prayer. Oftentimes I have specific people in mind as I reflect on scripture and use the Word I am reflecting on as part of my prayers. That was true as I reflected on Psalm 18 and prayed for a friend who was battling cancer. After my prayer and Bible journaling time, I wanted to send a note to my friend to encourage her and let her know I was praying for her. I decided to use my Bible journaling page to create a greeting card.

For my page, I used the spear-like arrow stamp on the Walk By Faith stamp set. I think it's the perfect visual for verse 39 "For you equipped me with strength for the battle." I colored in my sketch with ColorIn Watercolor Twists.

The process is very simple. I scanned my page (you could also take a photo) and imported the file into a word processing document so that I could resize it and print it on my color printer. After that, it was simply layering cardstock on top of a 5x7 card base.

Watch this quick video to see it all come together.

Journey with Jesus by Jenn

Hey Jenn here, back with a bible journaling page using some bible journaling stamps, markers, stickers and twine. I just returned a few weeks ago from a life changing bible journaling retreat in Oklahoma. The theme of the retreat was journey. One of the scriptures used during our devotional time was
Judges 18:6 "Go in peace. The journey on which you go is under the eye of the Lord."

I  started this page by using the patterned arrows and colored in a single row with the green marker, creating a faux washi border strip. Then I used a large set of alpha stickers for the word 'go'. I used the Pray Journal Repeat set for the banner, which I once again used a yellow marker to stamp. Once dry I added the word 'journey' with the tiny alpha in that stamp set. I created a tip in using a few die cut pieces and ephemera to hide and create more space to journal my thoughts and prayers. I love using the distressed clear 2018 sticker to notate the year I journaled this page, it totally fit the feel I was going for. Finally I added a fun cluster of tabs and tags using some bakers twine and washi around the page.

Sometimes I need the reminder to step out. Going to this retreat was a little scary. It was my very first, I knew no one and had no idea of what to expect and to top it all off I am kinda introverted. However I knew my Father wanted me to attend so I stepped out in faith believing that he would use this as a part of my journey. I was blessed with new friends, encouraging words and some serious 'God moments'.

Father, I have heard you loud and clear.... I need to go! Give me peace as i continue to search you out as i journey on the path you set out for me. Let me rest in the peace that my journey is not a mystery to you. May my faith grow and strengthen my relationship with you. Amen!!

Hugs and prayers,
Jenn (@creativegurl85)

Be Glad Bible Journaling by Christine

Spring is here and I think I'm showing it in all my crafting - even my Bible Journaling!  Christine joining you today with a springy Bible Margin from Psalm 32:11!

To get started I used some black ink and the Bible Margins Rejoice Stamp for the base of my stamping.

Next I got out the Clear Stamp/Flower Doodles and the Just Believe Stamp to add some additional butterflies.

Finally I used a blending tool and Distress Oxides to add color.  I didn't want to use markers or watercolors for this one - just wanted to keep it simple.  That's one of my favorite things about Bible Journaling - you can go as complicated or simple as you want and it still gives you time to reflect on the words!

Masking Bible Journaling Stamps by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here with you today to share how masking Bible journaling stamps can add even more options to your Bible journaling.

For this page I used Bible Margins Rejoice Stamp SetWatercolor Twist Pencils, and a black Marvy Le Plume pen.

For this page, I wanted to use both the This is the Day stamp (the center stamp) and the words "Rejoice," "and," and "be glad" from the Be Glad stamp (the far right stamp).

Before inking my stamp, I line it up where I want it to be. Then, I place a sticky note to cover the whole area that I don't want stamped.

Ink your stamp, and stamp in your Bible. The post it note will mask the area that you don't want inked.

I repeated the process until I had everything stamped. Then I used my Watercolor Twist Pencils to color in the stamped image and highlight my Bible Verse.

Masking Bible journaling stamps will have you looking at your stamps in a whole new way!

Sermon Notes by Jenn

Hello friends! Jenn here... back to share how I like to use my planner to take sermon and podcast notes. During the week when I have downtime I really enjoy listening and watching sermons and podcasts...thus lots of notes. I started putting them all in my Happy Planner Faith edition so I could easily reference the notes and come back to them as possible Bible journaling entries.

I began by attaching large die cuts to the page with my tape runner. Then I pulled out my LePens ....these colors have me all kinds of heart eyes! I picked out three colors that fit with my overall color scheme. As important key points and main ideas were brought up I used my key and light bulb icon stamps to further pull out these thoughts. I journaled the main theme I took from the message using the tiny alpha and circles. To finish off the page I stamped a few words that fit with the theme of the page, added some washi and few stamped hearts.

I find myself more likely to pull out my notes if I find them appealing to look at, which in turn causes me to reflect more and dwell on the messages. I hope this encourages you take those crumpled notes out of your Bible and put them in a journal. This could be a great place to start Bible journaling if writing in a Bible makes you a little nervous.

James 1:17 Bible Margins Journaling by Christine

One of my favorite Bible Verses is James 1:17 - how perfect is it that one of my favorite Bible Journaling Margins to date also includes that verse?  Christine joining you today with a journaling piece featuring the Bible Margins Rejoice stamps.

I incorporated several additional stamps and some mixed media into this piece as well.

To create my background I combined Distress Oxides along the edge with splatters of mist in a coordinating color.  Then I began to stamp!  Along the border I stamped with one of the stamps from Bible Borders. I love that cross one! I used the Just Believe Stamp to create additional flowers and then doodled some leaves of my own using the Black  Le Pen.

I colored in my stamps using simple brush markers and that's it! Not complicated but still a beautiful piece to reflect on as I read James!

Your Word is a Lamp Bible Journaling by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here with you today. I am absolutely in love with the new Bible Margins stamps, so today I have a Your Word is a Lamp Bible journaling to share with you.

For this page I used SRM's Bible Margins Light Stamp Set and Color In Pencils, as well as black, yellow, blue, and orange ink, and temporary adhesive.

I started by stamping my image in the margin of my Bible and roughly coloring it in.

I stamped the image a second time on a scrap piece of paper. I cut it out and laid it over the image stamped in my Bible (securing it with a bit of temporary adhesive).

I used the cut out image as a mask over my Bible so I could then sponge ink on to the entire page.

I finished up by adding a bit more color and detail to my Bible Margin Stamp with my colored pencils.

Have you gotten to use any of the new Bible Margin Stamps yet?

Bible Bubbles Bible Journaling Page and Process Video by Karen

The new Bible Bubbles faith stamp set is so cute and perfect for faith planners, cards, quick notes, and the margins of your Bible.

After putting down a thin layer of acrylic paint for some background color, I used several of the stamps on this page in the book of Joel.

Mirroring the stamps, I then drew a larger bubble for my journaling.

I really like how they look clustered together on my page.
The crosses featured on the page are from another new set called Bread of Life.
Watch this process video to see more of these stamp sets and how this page came together for me.

For this project, I used the following SRM products:

Light of the World by Christine

The new Bible Margins Stamps are so beautiful and just perfect for diving into your Bible Journaling!  Christine joining you today to show how I combined the Bible Margins stamps with a few more stamps in our line to create some colorful Bible Journaling!

I used Distress Oxides to create my background.  I like the milky look that they produce!  I just dabbed a sponge into the oxides and then spread them on my margin.  I dried between each layer so that they would maintain their own identity.  I then added my stamping - beginning with the Bible Margins - Light Set.

I used the cross from the Pray, Journal, Repeat Stamp Set as an accent around my Bible Verse.  I also drew a flourish to connect the top all the way to the bottom.  One of the things I enjoy most about this process is the freedom to experiment.

I had not previously used my white gel pen to highlight around black drawing or journaling but this was a good time to try it out.  It changes the look a lot and was a nice way to soften everything up a bit!

Run on over to the SRM Store and grab these new stamps - they will be a great addition to your Bible Journaling Collection!

Bible Journaling Stamp Layout by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here with you today. It's no secret that I love SRM's Bible journaling stamps. However, I usually use them in my Bible, and only occasionally on cards. I thought it would be fun to try something different with my stamps, so today I have a Bible Journaling Stamp layout to share with you.

I saw this "Every good and perfect gift" stamp from the new Bible Journaling Bible Margins Rejoice stamp set, and knew it would work beautifully on a layout.

I used ColorIn Watercolor pencils to color in the stamp in colors that coordinated with my matching paper. Placing the stamped image in between two photos really makes it pop as a focal point.

I'm super happy that I stepped outside my comfort zone and tried SRM's Bible Journaling stamps on something besides my Bible. Have you ever used SRM's Bible journaling stamps on a layout?

Reckless Love by Jenn

Hello lovelies, Jenn here! February is a month where we focus on love...the love we have for one another and the love our heavenly Father has for us. I was recently listening to a beautiful worship song called "Reckless Love" and the words sunk deep into my heart, and I knew instantly I needed to document this in my journaling Bible.

I used a new to me technique using paper heart doilies, and gelatos. I used a little washi tape to help hold the doilie in place while I used my finger to rub the gelato color into the paper and over the grooves of the doilie. I will warn you be super careful with how hard you rub the doilie I rubbed a little too hard and tore mine. To make the gelato a little more permanent and a little less likely to move around the page I spritzed it with water and left it to dry. I love the subtle look of the texture on the background of the page. I pulled out my Daily Devotion bible journaling stamps and stamped a few words and added a few simple wordfetti stickers. I wanted a few more visiable hearts on the page ...I used the Stickers by the dozen Valentine hearts and a strip of the I love you phrase under my marked verse.

Luke15:4-7 MSG "Suppose one of you had a hundred sheep and lost one. Wouldn't you leave the ninety-nee in the wilderness and go after the lost one until you found it? When found, you can be sure you would put it across you shoulders, rejoicing, and when you got home call in your friends and neighbors, saying, 'Celebrate with me! I've found my lost sheep!' Count on it- there's more joy in heaven over on sinner's rescued life than over ninety-nee good people in no need of rescue."

Our heavenly Father loves you and I so much and He is willing to do anything to save us! He is love, and it boggles my brain. I love the lyrics to the song "Reckless love"... "it chases me down, fights till I'm found, leaves the ninety-nine. I couldn't earn it, I don't deserve it, still you give yourself away. oh the overwhelming, never ending, reckless love of God." I pray that love envelopes you and fills you with awe and amazement. As you go through the month and even the year I hope you abide, walk, and dwell daily in God's wild love!
