{thanks} Quick Cards!

Welcome! We hope you enjoy your week at SRM Stickers! As you know, we're here every weekday with SRM Sticker projects created by our Designers. Additionally, we host a contest every month to find our next Guest Designer. Our June challenge closes on Wednesday so hurry and get your entry posted! Details, HERE.

I often create cards in sets of two. I can get two A2 sized card bases out of one sheet of letter sized paper, so while I have my supplies in front of me, I bang out a pair of cards. I used one of my favorite Quick Card sets, "{thanks}" (#52007):

I stamped and colored my images with Copic Markers. I kept the 'bulk' to a minimum because I want to mail these in standard envelopes.

Let's kick off this week with a challenge! I've created a card sketch based upon my sets. Use the sketch to create a new card and link us to your entry by the end of the week. The SRM Design Team will choose a winner to receive a SRM Stickers Prize package, including our new CHA Chicago releases!

Although you don't have to use SRM Stickers for your entry, we'd love to see what you can do with SRM. Good luck! Please link us to your entry using Mr. Linky below.

Anniversary Balloons by Deana

Deana's here with a tutorial on making eye-catching balloons out of SRM Stickers. They're a perfect (and easy!) embellishment to birthday cards, congratulations cards, or in this case, an anniversary card... Here's Deana with more;

Today I want to show you how to use your circle punch and some round SRM Stickers to create handmade embellishments for your cards. To make "balloons" for my card, I used a circle punch & went with a patterned paper that has some very small "love" sentiments on it. Since the stickers are CLEAR (love that!), they work seemlessly over the text on the paper without it being too distracting. The sticker sets I chose are Quick Cards #52005 Love & Sticker Sentiments #51004 Love.

After I punched out 5 circles, I adhered my round SRM Stickers to each one & then added a pop dot underneath to make the balloons appear to be floating on my card. I then cut several pieces of baker's twine & tied up my bunch with another piece of twine to hold them all together. I adhered my bunch of string underneath the balloons.

I finished building the rest of my "scene" on my card before adding my last sticker to the front, "LOVE IS IN THE AIR." The final stickers were put on the inside of the card. I really love how many sentiments are available with SRM Stickers. It makes creating cards SO easy!

Now you have a unique anniversary card with a touch of whimsy!

Join us tomorrow for another fabulous SRM Sticker project!

Short Cut Mini Cards

Hello! I have a little tutorial for you today. I love making mini cards and lately tall minis are my thing. They are close to being scraplings, but with a lot more workable space. One of my favorite Cosmo Cricket collections, "Earth Love", was perfect for my minis - there are so many soothing patterns to choose from, including a sheet of fun cloud shapes.

What you'll need;

two 3 1/4" x 12" strips of cardstock, scored and folded in half
a 6 x 5 3/4" piece of patterned paper
a 6 x 3 1/4" piece of patterned paper
a 6" strip of fringed paper
die cut shapes or trimmed images (I used clouds)
coordinating ribbon

SRM Quick Card Sticker, "{Hello}" (#52006);

I adhered my smaller patterned paper piece to the bottom of the larger one then attached my paper fringe strip at the seam. I added my cloud shapes to the top portion.

The paper frings is super easy. I learned this quick and fun technique from my friend, Stacey Michaud a few years ago and I frequently use it. I used a clear grid ruler and paper piercer to punch holes 1/4" apart then cut the slits using small scissors. I used a pencil to bend and flip them up a bit.

So, here's where the short cut comes into play. I created a large card panel then simply cut it in half. I had to measure and adhere my card elements only once!

I wrapped my card panels with ribbon and placed my SRM Sticker greeting toward the bottom, using the bottom edge as a guide. I then adhered my card panels to my card bases and I was good to go.

Thanks for stopping by! If you give this format a try using SRM Stickers, shoot an email to me with pics -- I'd love to showcase it here on the SRM Blog!

Cards, Inside & Out by Tania

I hope you enjoyed our Cosmo Cricket DeLovely Hop over the weekend! I'll be announcing our card sketch winner and random blog hop winner in tomorrow's post. Each will receive a Cosmo Cricket DeLovely Crafting Kit and SRM Stickers Prize Package. Thank you for stopping by and taking part in our Hop!

You saw what Tania did with our June theme, Here Comes the Sun, last week (click HERE), now check out what else she's done using more Cosmo Cricket DeLovely and SRM Stickers...her talent runs deep!

Tania will take it from here...

Today, I want to show you how to take your handmade cards to the next level while still making use of your SRM stickers in the process.

I’ve seen enough handmade cards to say that the majority of card makers abandon ship after decorating the front of their cards and they aren’t always conscientious of what pokes through the front of the card to the inside flap.

While a handmade card is always beautiful, my examples show you how spending just 2 extra minutes can take your card from simply handmade to beautifully finished with a completely polished look both inside and out.

How? Embellish internally!

This can be done simply by repeating one portion of the design or pattern, from the front of the card, on the inside and finishing the look with a sentiment sticker.

Thank you, Tania, I'm in awe! I have so many more projects for you this week, don't go far. :)
