Hope Bottles, A Tutuorial by Raechelle

Welcome! Raechelle has a special tutorial for us today. She used our Breast Cancer Awareness stickers to create treasured "hope bottles". Enjoy!

Hope Bottles

Supplies:

SRM Stickers;
Say It With Stickers, Celebrate Life
Express Yourself, Celebrate Life
Empty 4 pack Frappuchino bottles and cardboard carrier
Crate Paper and die cuts
White spray paint or acrylic paint
Wooden girl figure
Ribbon
Mod Podge and glue
Scallop punch
Hole punch

Instructions:

1. Wash and dry bottles; with spray paint or acrylic paint, paint lids and top inside area of box. Allow to dry.

2. For base: cut 2 strips of 4"x12" pieces of patterned paper; for handle area: cut a 5"x4.5 strip of coordinating paper; this will be wrapped over the handle. To cut the holes. Pre fold paper over the handle, then trace the holes on each side, then cut out. For triangular areas alongside handle area: lay this area down, trace onto patterned paper, and cut out.

3. Adhere pieces to box; first adhere the triangular pieces, then the handle, then the base. To make the edges neat use one of the 4"x12" strips and overlap about 1/2" on two sides. Trim off excess. Then cut the second strip to size with the edges meeting and going atop the overlap from the first sheet.

4. Cut two 3/4"x12" strips, use a scallop punch and then adhere this to the top edge around the box.

5. Apply several SRM stickers onto multiple sheets of patterned paper (I used most of the stickers from each of the three sheets I selected for this project); cut out and then begin adhering to box and bottles. I also applies some stickers directly onto the bottles instead of placing them all on the patterned papers.

6. Fill "holes" with a few die cuts and anything else you have to add. I had a wooden girl shape that I added to the front of the box. Finish off bottles in the same way. I like to keep them fairly simple since they are mostly inside the box.

7. Punch 4 circles out of patterned paper; adhere to lid and then apply a SRM Sticker.

8. Fill bottles with whatever your heart desires.

A Celebrate Life Layout by Raechelle

Happy Tuesday! We are busy bees at SRM Stickers, creating cards, layouts, altered items, and tutorials for you! The multi-talented Raechelle has a layout for you today. She used more Bo Bunny papers and combined them with various SRM Stickers;

Here are Raechelle's thoughts about working with SRM Stickers; I have to say that what I like most about the SRM Stickers is the huge variety and versatility of them. I have often cut out a word or two from one sticker or one sheet and mixed it with a word from another and this layout is no different. The possibilities are endless! If one cannot find exactly what they want to "say" with the stickers, they can cut them and create their own.

I'm SO excited about tomorrow's post! Raechelle is back with a wonderfully touching, beautiful, and fun tutorial. I can't wait to try it myself!

Here are Jen's thoughts on SRM Stickers;

One of my favorite things about SRM Stickers is their versatility. I love to use them on layouts, cards, altered projects....EVERYTHING. They go with everything. The themes are perfect and there is such an abundant selection. I have yet to come across a project that I couldn't find the perfect SRM sticker for.

May Guest Designer

Please welcome our Guest Designer for May;

Virginia Lu

We adore Virginia's bright and cheerful style, and she did beautiful things with SRM Stickers!

A little about Virginia... I'm blessed with two wonderful children and a loving, supportive husband. I live in the City of Waterloo (Ontario, Canada) which is best known as the birth place of the BlackBerry. During the day I help manage my hubby's medical office. When NOT working, I love creating cards and making yummy food. My academic background is all about languages; I am fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, German and English, of course. I enjoy making friends all over the world through our shared love of paper-crafting!

I started stamping shortly after my now-15-year-old son was born. I think my approach to card-making is fun and creative. My inspiration comes from the stamped images, sentiments and my surroundings. It has been a dream come true to guest design for the versatile SRM stickers! Thank you so much for letting me join your team!

Here's what Virginia has to say about SRM Stickers: "The stickers are made of great quality and can easily be applied to ANY project. They take the guess work out of creating the perfect sentiment for my cards!"

Thank you, Virginia! If you'd like to Guest Design for SRM Stickers, enter our May Challenge, HERE. See you again tomorrow with another Fun Friday post, featuring a mini album by Jing-Jing!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day! Thank you for stopping by! We have a special treat for you today, Guest Blogger;

Jeanne Wines-Reed

Jeanne Wines-Reed, student of life, wife, mother, artist and entrepreneur, thrives on challenges. She holds a BA in Art, a single-subject (Art) K-12 California teaching credential, as well as a MA in Educational Administration. Jeanne has been thoroughly involved with the scrapbook industry on many levels for over 14 years. Affectionately dubbed "The Ambassador of Goodwill for Scrapbooking," she has traveled worldwide to promote scrapbooking, constantly working to provide resources that will help the industry grow in healthy, cohesive ways. Jeanne is the founder of the Great American Scrapbook Conventions and Scrapbook Retailer magazine. She sold both these successful companies in 2006.

In addition, Jeanne and her mother Dr. Joan Wines, co-authored three books together Scrapbooking For Dummies, Digital Scrapbooking for Dummies, as well as Scrapbooking Basics for Dummies (all published by Wiley). Jeanne continues to be involved with the scrapbook industry on many levels: consulting, speaking, writing, publishing, and teaching at consumer and tradeshows, schools, businesses, and senior communities, and integrating scrapbooking with charitable work--one of her other main interests.

Jeanne loves to travel and learn about new places and people. She enjoys photography, music, art, and writing. Her passion for life in its diverse forms is reflected in her belief that scrapbooking crosses every socio-economic background and emphasizes that because this is true, scrapbooking can be a powerful vehicle for understanding and peace in our world communities. Here are Jeanne's thoughts on this special day;

In 1994 this day was set aside to honor scrapbooking. I’m grateful for this occasion to share my thoughts with you about the importance of scrapbooking. Two of my greatest life passions are photography and journal writing. Through both of these interests I’ve combined them with my background in art and this has provided me with an amazing “canvas” to tell the stories that I could only tell through a scrapbook. Scrapbooks are all about telling our stories with photos, journaling, stickers, embellishments, paper, and an album.

To capture my individual life moments and experiences, I make a conscious effort to carry my camera with me most of the time as well as a pen and a small journal. I see and hear so many inspiring things in each day I have the opportunity to be alive. I like the early morning sunlight and the sunsets at the end of the day. I work at striving to write in my journal each day about events, people and what. wisdom and insight I learned from the many experiences that happened that day. Life is a short visit, and I truly enjoy the daily journey. We have an opportunity to leave something behind for those who come after us, it’s a scrapbook filled with our images and writing.

In honor of National Scrapbook Day, I challenge each of us to create something about ourselves. Share our wisdom from lives daily lessons, so our posterity can know more about who we are what we have seen and learned about ourselves, others, nature, love, and living. Let’s celebrate by creating something lasting and inspiring for someone we love.

Jeanne put her thoughts into motion by creating a wonderful album. You can view it, in its entirety, HERE.

Have a terrific, crafty day! See you on Monday...
