Sticker Distressing by Tanis & WINNERS

Tanis is here today with a sticker distressing technique that she discovered when one of her stickers got stuck to another. It's so easy to create that weathered and worn look on SRM stickers! Check it out as Tanis walks us step-by-step.

Distressing Stickers
By Tanis Giesbrecht

SRM stickers are SO GREAT just the way they are, but when I'm wanting to add a little “something extra” to my project, I like to change the stickers up a bit. Here's a quick and easy way to give your stickers a distressed look!

STEP ONE
Choose your sticker! Adhere it to the cardstock or patterned paper you'll be using.

STEP TWO
Grab some sticky tape. Packing tape is perfect for this job.

STEP THREE
Press small sections of the tape onto your sticker. Lift up quick. Repeat and repeat and repeat this step until you have obtained the desired level of distressiness :)

The final result? A beautifully distressed sticker! If you decide to give this a go, let us know and email a photo of your project! We'd love to see your take on this technique!

Now, it's winner time! Please give a shout to our Operation Write Home Challenge winner. Deborah Anton created this wonderful card based upon our sketch, to send to our soldiers through Operation Write Home. Beautiful!

World Card Making Day was a huge hit around here. We featured cards all day long and chose a winner from each post. Here they are!

12pm; scrappin_3rdeeschik

Thanks so much for the blog candy! I'm very excited to see what comes my way! And thanks for the wonderful tip about how to distress the stickers. I do a lot of vintage-style projects, and this is the perfect way to give the stickers that shabby chic look - very creative tip!
