East & West Bible Journaling by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here to day to share some Bible journaling. Today I've got a verse from Psalms, "As far as the East is from the West, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."

For my page I used 2 SRM stamp sets; Bible Backgrounds and Heaven and Earth, ColorIn Watercolor Pencils, a Reminisce White Gel Pen, a LePlume Black marker, Sticker Stitches in white, and some stamping inks. 

I used my colored inks to sponge on a soft background of blue, purple, and orange. I then stamped the crossed arrows stamp from Bible Backgrounds with the same colored inks.

I used a mixture of stamps from the Heaven & Earth stamp set and the black LePlume marker to write the verse in the margin of my page. I used the white gel pen and watercolor pencils to color in the arrows, mountains, and words. I finished up by adding a few white stitches stickers randomly to the edges of my page.

Bible Backgrounds Bible Journaling by Samantha

Hello! Samantha here with you to share a Bible journaling page. Today I have I'm using SRM's Bible Backgrounds stamp set to create my page.

For this page I focused on Jesus calling the first disciples. You can find this in a few different books of the Bible. I just happened to journal this in Matthew. I used Bible Backgrounds to create my pattern in the margin. I love how easy it is to create a repeating pattern with the Bible Backgrounds stamp set. It make the set so versatile! I used ColorIn Colored Pencils in dark blue, light blue, and purple to color in random fish in the stamped pattern. I used the same pencils to then highlight my text and create a border around the page.

I used a Le Plume black marker to write the text "Follow Me, and I will make you fish for people." I really like the "Follow Me" part of this text and wanted to highlight it. I decided that stamping the word "follow" from Scripture Notes down the margin would be a great way to accomplish this.

I can't wait to create more backgrounds with the Bible Backgrounds stamp set! 

Plan On It! by Angie

Hello SRM friends and fans!! Angie here with you to share  some planner pages using some of the amazing stamps, stickers and pens from SRM. 

Since my planner pages already had a pink and teal theme, I knew I wanted to play up those colors. I also added in some black and white to give the pages that 'pop' of extra color. 

I started with the Color in Markers. I used the pink marker. I scribbled a little bit of the pink marker on an acrylic stamping block, added some water and mixed it together to make a 'paint'. I painted that on my pages in certain spots and used some to make some splatters as well. If you try this technique, just keep in mind that the more 'paint' you add, the more your pages will warp. 

Next, I gathered my SRM planner stamps and the Bible background stamps. I love how the Bible background stamps just add a little more interest to the pages. I used the Coffee Plans Stamps to stamp a reminder to drink all the coffee (not that I need a reminder!!). For the weekend banner, I stamped the banner from the Travel Plans Stamps and wrote in the word weekend using the neon LePen set. The cute little apple comes from the Seasonal Plans set. That set contains so many cute icons! The word September at the top of the page also comes from that same stamp set. 

For the flowers seen on my pages, I used the Just Believe stamp set. I colored those images using the Color In Markers and Neon LePen set mentioned above. Just remember to use an archival ink when stamping images if you plan to watercolor them, that way your stamped image won't bleed. 

To decorate my pages even more, I used several of SRM's awesome stickers. SRM has stickers for all occasions.

The soccer stickers you see are from Say it with stickers-soccer and Take 2-soccer. Don't be afraid to cut down your stickers to use what you want. The adorable pink circular label is from the Labels by the Dozen Bright Blank set. Those labels are useful for so many different projects.

I also added in some pink and black sticker stitches and some border stickers. After adding a few bits and pieces from my stash, my planer pages look amazing and are still functional!

Lettering Technique with Bible Background Stamps by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today with some techniques and a video too! 

Today I'm sharing several ways I utilized SRM's Bible Backgrounds stamp set this week. My favorite technique was using the "amen" Bible background to dress up plain white letters. 

After cutting the letters from plain white cardstock in my die cut machine (you could use your white or light-colored stickers), I randomly stamped on top of them before removing them from the cutting mat. Next, I added a bit of marker wash to give them colors that coordinated with my faith planner layout for the week.

Bible Journaling with Stamps by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today with some Bible Journaling with SRM Stamps. 

In the Book of Exodus, God tells Moses,

"Say this to the people of Israel: 'I AM has sent me to you'" (3:14). 

God, I AM, is past, present, and future. 

He is, as the verb indicates, the essence of all being. 

God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, three in one. 

For this page, I began by stamping Father, Son, & Holy Spirit in yellow. I felt it was a little too light, so I added darker yellow/gold layers with my ColorIn Watercolor Twists and waterbrush. I repeatedly stamped "I am" over the yellow and added the "amen" block stamp throughout the page.

I repeated the element of 3 with three mixed media leaves.

We are so incredibly blessed by a God who wants to be, and is, present with us. He meets all our needs because He is all things. Be blessed today as you reflect on the great I AM.

Using Jute Twine on Cards by Shantaie

HI, I'm Shanatie and I love to make cards of all kinds! 

I wanted to share a couple of ways that adding a bit of colorful jute twine can make a card that is already pretty, really pop!

For this simple shaker card I stamped the back of my window with bible backgrounds little clouds and the flowers from just believe all built into a frame and filled with sequins, and loose flowers.

 A super cute card on its own, but that pop of wrapped jute twine and tiny bow, really pulls the bold colors together, and adds essential texture and softness.

For this card I created a circle window and stamped the happy sentiment from BIG happy and embossed it in gold, to add a layered greeting a happy birthday to you from the we've got your border sheet clear sticker was placed just below the embossed sentiment. A watercolor flower was embossed in white placed overlapping the window, a tiny bow of plum jute twine anchors the flower and adds a jolt of fibrous color in the same shades, its beautiful!

Try adding little bits or bows of jute twine to your cards, and layouts for a beautiful alternative to a bulky ribbon!

Sermon Notes Bible Journaling & Video by Christine

Who likes to take Sermon Notes?  Christine here today and I'll admit it's a bit of a foreign concept for me on a live basis because I am married to a pastor....so I'm fending for myself in the pew with four kiddos.  Today I have a couple ideas of how to go in with some ready made creations to add your sermon notes into!  The first project involves a traveler's notebook.  The second is a mini book for kids.

Now let's take a close-up look at these projects - here's the full spread in my traveler's notebook.

The notebook combines the use of the Sermon Notes Stamp Set, The Amen Frames Stamp Set, and the Bible Background Stamp Set.

The Bible Background Stamp set was perfect for adding some interest to my punched out butterflies!

I made the kids notebook Black and White so that it could be colored.

Then I set my 10 year old loose on coloring! This is the cover page - packed with the Sermon Notes Stamp Set.

Here's one of the inside pages with just the black and white.

My goal was just to leave enough room for a little bit of note-taking and then places to doodle and color.

Bags of Fun Mixed Media Tutorial by Emma

Greetings to you, crafty friends!  Emma here, and today I am going to share a little mixed media piece using one of these wonderful SRM linen & lace bags, enhanced with lace.  They have a wonderful texture, which is just perfect for an art journal page.

 

 I know that being faced with a blank page is pretty daunting when beginning a mixed media piece.  The trick is to remember that you can build layers of colour, stamps, texture and embellishments to create your page.  This type of art isn't supposed to be "perfect", as it is a reflection of your current mood, or the inspiration you found.

To start, I picked some supplies to go with the linen bag:

Here, I have 4" white lace doilies, green jute twine, 2" punched scallop circle, and two stamp sets, Big Hello and Bible Backgrounds.  I really love the images on the backgrounds stamp set, especially the clouds!

 

To build the colour of the background, I have used Marvy ColorIn Watercolor Pencils.  

They blend beautifully!

 

 Now, to use the stamps to build up other elements in the background.  I used the clouds, springs and arrows in random areas.  Then, I stamped and embossed the 'hello' using white embossing powder.

 

Now, I have added the linen bag (I used strong double-sided tape such as SookWang to hold it down).  Bursting from the bag are three paper doilies, that have folded into tube shapes and embellished with a little gold and copper gilding wax.  This really makes the texture in the doilies pop!  Lastly, I created a flower shape with the scalloped circle, and added petals and a bling rhinestone to the centre.  The green jute serves as a stem for the flower.

 I hope you've enjoyed my mixed media project, and that it inspires you to try something like this too!  It's so fun to let your creativity run wild.  (PS - I heard you can even use these linen bags to put things in, too!  So versatile! 😉)

August Planner with SRM by Shanna

Hello and Welcome!  
This is Shanna with my first post as a SRM Design Team member.  I'm very excited! 

Today I am sharing with you my August Happy Planner monthly layout!  I love monthly layouts as a tool to get a quick glance at to do's and important dates.  I had a lot of fun using a lot of different products on this layout, and even watercolored a little!  Super fun, and even pretty quick as well.  

I used the Bible Background stamp set to stamp out the clouds in my empty squares at the beginning of the month. I love doing something creative in the blank space and the clouds were a perfect compliment to my layout.  After stamping them I lightly watercolored a pretty shade of blue in the space in between the clouds using Color-in Watercolor Twist Pencils.  Oh my goodness!!  I loved using these!  I tend to not watercolor much in my planner because it warps my pages, but I barely had to add ANY water to get the desired effect with these pencils. I foresee more watercoloring in my future planner pages for sure!

August brings a big event in our house.  With 3 kids all in school this year, Back To School might as well be considered a federal holiday!  I have one entering kindergarten, one in 2nd grade, and a soon to be junior in high school this year. They all attend different schools, and one doesn't start the same day as the other two.  So I turned to SRM Stickers to save me!  I loved how the "First day of School" sticker from the Express Yourself/School sticker sheet fit right in between the 2 weeks so it could label both dates!  I utilized the school year stickers from the Live Life/School sticker sheet to further commemorate the individual grades each of my kids are entering.  This Mama is going to be a big cry baby for the last couple weeks of August!! 

I also love coding things in my planner.  Instead of writing everything out, I choose an icon that relates to the task.  I did this specifically for my crafting swaps I participate in with the calendar icon from the Everyday Plans clear stamp set.  Whenever I see that stamped, it correlates to a due date or event I have marked on my "crafty calendar" I keep in my craft room.  I also utilized a coffee cup from Coffee Plans clear stamp set to help me remember schedule my blog posts on my personal blog Caffeinated Craftiness. You can also spot some of the Coffee Plans set being used to fill in the blank squares at the end of the month.  The little coffee beans included in the set are totally adorable as a background filler and the sentiment speaks to my caffeinated life! 

Rounding off my layout are a few snippets from the Pray, Journal, Repeat stamp set.  I adore this set and it's versatility!  Can you spot everywhere I used it??

I also used the Everyday Plans clear stamp set to create my "payday" icons and my To Do list/ My To do list features check marks that I will color in as I complete each task. Who doesn't like crossing things off a list?? My Neon Le Pens allowed me to add in small details where needed all well.  I loved the "life is good phrase" from the We've Got Your Sticker Plus Birdie sticker sheet, so that got incorporated into my sidebar because well, LIFE IS VERY GOOD!

S'mores Tubes by Shantaie

Good morning!  Shantaie here with a fun summer treat. 

S'mores are loved by all, and what could be better than a tube of s'mores to go? A shot of chocolate, marshmallow, and crispy sweet graham crackers...yummy!!!

I filled each tube with a little of each ingredient and topped it off with a tag stamped with arrows from the bible background stamp set and a paper pieced campfire, and a little banner of 

stickers by the dozen, tied with jute twine.

To make your own, just fill with a few graham bears, mini marshmallows, and two mini chocolate bars. Munch on them as a snack to go, or melt for a little s'mores gooey goodness!

New Product Introductions - Day #2 - Bible Journaling Stamps!
