Lettering Technique with Bible Background Stamps by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today with some techniques and a video too!

Today I'm sharing several ways I utilized SRM's Bible Backgrounds stamp set this week. My favorite technique was using the "amen" Bible background to dress up plain white letters.

After cutting the letters from plain white cardstock in my die cut machine (you could use your white or light-colored stickers), I randomly stamped on top of them before removing them from the cutting mat. Next, I added a bit of marker wash to give them colors that coordinated with my faith planner layout for the week.

To watch me complete this technique and to see a few more ideas using the Bible Backgrounds stamps, watch my process video below!

Here's a close-up of my letters in my planner.

Jesus Teach My Children by Jennifer

Hello all, Jenn here! I am excited to share with you a page from my Bible. August 7th was a very exciting day, as it was the first day of school for my Preschooler, 1st grader and 2nd grader. As a homeschool mom every year is full of a little anxiety, and excitement. I loved this verse I found in Isaiah 52:14 "All your Children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children."

To begin this page I started with the lettering I simply wrote the words and found some amazingly cute washi tape at Target for the word teach as well as the fun alphabet pictures at the top and bottom of the page. Next I pulled out the school stickers and fussy cut the apples and added them to the page to create a fun element and to keep your eye moving around the page. I thought the side of the page looked a little empty so I stamped the pencil from the Sermon Notes stamp set in a red and yellow to coordinate with the apples and fun "teacher" look of the page.

I also pulled out the curvy arrow to help mark the verse and colored the verse with my watercolor pencils. The red and yellow border stickers were added to the top and bottom under that fun alphabet washi. After adding a very heartfelt prayer to the page and a super fun fabric paperclip the page was finished and my heart was at rest.

Sermon Notes Bible Journaling & Video by Christine

Who likes to take Sermon Notes?  Christine here today and I'll admit it's a bit of a foreign concept for me on a live basis because I am married to a pastor....so I'm fending for myself in the pew with four kiddos.  Today I have a couple ideas of how to go in with some ready made creations to add your sermon notes into!  The first project involves a traveler's notebook.  The second is a mini book for kids.

Let's kick things off with a video walk thru of how I created these two projects:

Now let's take a close-up look at these projects - here's the full spread in my traveler's notebook.

The notebook combines the use of the Sermon Notes Stamp Set, The Amen Frames Stamp Set, and the Bible Background Stamp Set.

The Bible Background Stamp set was perfect for adding some interest to my punched out butterflies!

I made the kids notebook Black and White so that it could be colored.

Then I set my 10 year old loose on coloring! This is the cover page - packed with the Sermon Notes Stamp Set.

Here's one of the inside pages with just the black and white.

My goal was just to leave enough room for a little bit of note-taking and then places to doodle and color.

Here's what it looks like when she filled in one week!

So there you have it, a couple of ideas for you on how to start using those new stamps in your Sermon Note taking on Sunday morning!

Shout! Bible Journaling Page by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today I'm having fun with SRM's new Sermon Notes Stamp

We attended our church's Vacation Bible School recently and this story in Joshua
was the focus for one of the day's activities. Through the power and might of God alone, Joshua and the Israelites took the city of Jericho. God showed his mighy power as He caused the walls of the city to fall flat. "Shout, for the Lord has given you the city." -Joshua 6:16.

For this page, I used the flat end of a make-up sponge and grey ink to create a brick-look background in the margin. The speech bubble stamp on the Sermon Notes Faith stamp set was perfect for the "SHOUT!" title made with stickers.

Inside the speech bubbles I used a combination of stamps and handlettering to repeat the phrase echoed by the children during Vacation Bible School, "Shout! God is mighty, the victory is won!"

Thank you, Lord, for the victory won through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Here at SRM we love Faith and Bible Journaling and Bible Planner products and this introduction is particularly wonderful as it gives you some new tools to use in your Bible Journaling, Faith Planners and Faith cards and craft projects. We are excited to add 6 new stamps.

The first stamp is called "Bible Backgrounds", perfect to embellish your Bible pages as you prepare to journal.  This stamp offers 6 different backgrounds that can be used in so many different ways.

Next is a stamp called "Amen Frames" that is sure to embellish your Bible pages, Scrapbook pages or cards!  You can stamp or write special words or images inside of your frames as well.

Everyone loves banners, and this next stamp "Bible Banners" is a wonderful way to proclaim the word.

Want to make your own banners?  Our "Pray, Journal, Repeat" stamp is perfect for just that!  You can make the banners as long or short as you like and you can stamp any word or words on them that you want using the mini alphabet on the stamp!  Also comes with circles and squares to highlight words or images in your Bible.  And the words Pray, Journal and Repeat in a beautiful font!

I love this next stamp called "Sermon Notes" perfect for so many different uses.  Lots of wonderful words and images and a square, talk bubble and circle to highlight just the right word or image.

And last but not least is our new "Scripture Notes" stamp with lots of small words that are perfect for Bible Journaling.  And if you take a close look you will see that the words rhyme making them almost like a meditation.  And check out the border at the bottom.  Turn it sideways and it's a perfect way to make bullet points in your Bible or Faith Planner.
