Pretty in the Pantry Vinyl Project by Shantaie

 Hi I'm Shantaie a happy team member here at SRM! 
I'm so in love with my cottage kitchen, not only because I just took delivery of a gorgeous new pair of stainless appliances but because my baking pantry is so pretty!!! 

Can I just say that I let out a squeal of shear delight when I received my Silver metallic vinyl from SRM I knew right away it was going to be perfect on my storage containers!

The color is identical to stainless and has the same texture! Super easy to cut with my Silhouette on a blade setting of 1 and the negative areas peel away or "weed" much more simply than I thought they would, a pleasant surprise. It is slightly reflective and really clean and modern looking.

Honestly after years of projects my family is not easily impressed, and what do you know they all love these canisters! {maybe they will cook more?!} With a pantry this dreamy I think anything can happen!

Crabby Days Summer Card by Shantie

Hi again, Shantaie here with a crabby but cute summertime shaped card.

I cut this adorable crab with my Silhouette and added a bit of olive ink to his edges and used the bistro chalk marker to add a few crustacean-esque spots and highlights. He is way too adorable!!

Two hands in the air for lazy days of summer! This guy is pretty excited about his sign, made from a white banner and the August monthly memories sticker. How can you not smile when you see this crabby!!!

Have a fun and maybe even a lazy summer day!

Mermaid Heat Transfer Bag by Shantaie

Hi! How are you today? Feeling a little summery yet? Me too!

I've been having fun playing with some black heat transfer vinyl and 

linen bags, to make these splashy mermaid treat bags.

I love this mermaid cut found on the Silhouette store, and decided to alter it, by only using the tail portion of the design, "splashing into the water" was what I was going for! I cut the design into heat transfer vinyl and ironed it onto the bag with a dry hot iron. I wanted a bit of color so I pulled out a green and a blue glimmer mist, and sprayed fairly generously! :) 

I also added a few little heat transfer gems, and glued on some half back pearls. In the top corner A small glass bottle filled with sandy hued glitter, and a rope bow are just the cherry on top!  Dive right in and fill the bag with candy, a strand of pearls or some fabulous beach waves hair products to give as a summer gift!

Vinyl Over Glass by Shantaie

Hello!  Shantaie Fowler here today to share a fun Christmas gift idea with you using SRM vinyl. 

A clean and cheerful sentiment in red Vinyl cut with the Silhouette is a pretty way to embellish jars of handmade peppermint sugar scrub. 

 

l love how pretty they look!  A simple ribbon and candy cane embellishment are adorned with springs of delicate paper pine branches.  

To make the sugar scrub, mix 1 cup sugar, 1 cup of coconut oil and a few drops of peppermint essential oil.

 Add a to/from Christmas label to the top of the jar and it's ready to give!

Heat Transfer Pillow Tutorial by Annette

Happy Day SRM Stickers friends. Annette Allen here with you today to share a little love with a fun Heat Transfer Vinyl Pillow. For that special someone.
It just makes a room that much more special.

First I started with choosing a fun sentiment from the Silhouette Library.



After running through the Silhouette you just separate the extra Heat Transfer Vinyl from the sticky service. Make sure and take off all the Heat Transfer Vinyl that you will not be ironing onto your fabric.



Next I used a pen and round object to trace the circle onto my fabric. 
Then cut out.

I wanted to have a fun border on the pillow so I cut strips and sewed overlapping the fabric.

Iron on the Heat Transfer Vinyl for about 3 minutes to my fabric or until the Heat Transfer Vinyl is completely solid on the fabric. Put your iron on the highest temp, turning off the steam. Do not put your iron directly onto the Heat Transfer Vinyl this will melt the Vinyl. Use a fabric cloth on the top of the Heat Transfer Vinyl when ironing. 

I am now ready to sew together.

And the result a cute and Loving Pillow.

Birthday Party Diecut Bag by Michele

 Michele Kovack here with a fun summer birthday party bag! The cute sand pail is perfect for a late August celebration.  It was cut using my Silhouette.  I added sand to the bucket and shovel using glossy accents. I added a cute red lobster to the pail and added glossy accents to his body. 

I added ribbon and two...yes two...SRM sentiment stickers!  The round happy birthday sticker is from the Take 2 Stickers by the Dozen.  It was adhered to a white scalloped punched piece.  (Told you I would be using them again soon!)  ;)   I also added a wooden clothespin that I had painted yellow.  I gave it a few polka dots and glued a red rhinestone to it.  The mini "celebrate" is from SRM's Birthday Birdie Stickers by the Dozen.  Love using mini stickers on my projects!

And look at how many stickers you get on one sheet of Take 2 stickers!  You can make 11 more of these fun birthday party bags from just one sheet.  And there are 10 colors of punched pieces from which to choose.

Create Your Own Vinyl Nail Stickers with Tessa

Hello from Tessa Wise!  It's summer time and who doesn't love pretty nails in the summer!  All the fun, bright colored nail polish comes out along with some great designer embellishments.  I thought I'd experiment and see if I could create some of my own embellishments using SRM Vinyl and my Silhouette Cameo. 

I chose to work with the glossy metallic gold vinyl but any of the SRM vinyl

 would work for this.  I found a few simple designs in my Silhouette library and shrunk them down to less than half of an inch tall.  You can see the designs I chose and the size they are compared to the background grid:

I set the machine up to cut my vinyl and sent it through.  Amazingly, my machine had no problem cutting such tiny designs!

I peeled away the extra background vinyl leaving only the cut shapes on the backing.  Aren't they cute!

I painted my nails in a pretty coral color and let them dry completely.  

Then I simply lifted the stickers off with my picker tool, being careful not to touch the back of the vinyl with my fingers.

I layed them down on my nails and pressed over them with my fingers so they were stuck down well.  With the zig zags, I cut the edges so they fit the width of my nails.

I sealed them with a clear top coat and let them dry completely.  Once the top coat was dry, they were good to go!  The stickers lasted as long as my mani did and looked so pretty in the sunshine!

I am so happy with how this little experiment turned out!  I'm going to try it again soon with tiny flowers! :)  Thanks for stopping by the SRM blog today! Now go check out all the arm Vinyl choices and plan your own nail party!

Michele Kovack always seems to need little thank you gifts.   Her daughter Cortney has many caregivers. People like her teachers, aides, bus drivers, and therapists.  They all know Michele is a crafter, which puts a lot of pressure on her to make them something they are going to like.  ;)  So what better way to give a little gratitude than chocolate candies in pretty SRM glassine bags all dolled up with doilies, bows and twine?

Michele topped off her glassine bags with with a classy gold doily from SRM and bows she cut using her Silhouette.  YUM!

Michele used a variety of thank you stickers, because as she likes to say, "Variety is the spice of life!" 

Michele added a pearl and a bit of color coordinated twine to finish her gift bags off!  Perfection!

Vinyl Wall Decor by Juliana

Juliana Michaels loves playing with her Silhouette Cameo.  And now that SRM has Vinyl, Juliana is having a blast!  She designed some images herself for a wall decor project.  How fun is that!   All images are available for download on Juliana's blog:  http://www.17turtles.com

For her project, Juliana got some trays at the Dollar Tree and painted them with chalkboard paint before adding the vinyl images.  

Here are the finished trays now happily living on Juliana's wall in her home.
