Walk by Faith Bible Journaling & Card by Karen

Part of the process for me as I Bible journal is prayer. Oftentimes I have specific people in mind as I reflect on scripture and use the Word I am reflecting on as part of my prayers. That was true as I reflected on Psalm 18 and prayed for a friend who was battling cancer. After my prayer and Bible journaling time, I wanted to send a note to my friend to encourage her and let her know I was praying for her. I decided to use my Bible journaling page to create a greeting card.

For my page, I used the spear-like arrow stamp on the Walk By Faith stamp set. I think it's the perfect visual for verse 39 "For you equipped me with strength for the battle." I colored in my sketch with ColorIn Watercolor Twists.

The process is very simple. I scanned my page (you could also take a photo) and imported the file into a word processing document so that I could resize it and print it on my color printer. After that, it was simply layering cardstock on top of a 5x7 card base.

Watch this quick video to see it all come together.

Bible Journaling Worship & Praise by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today to share some of my Bible Journaling with you.

One of the main reason I Bible journal is because it gives me the time to meditate on specific words of scripture. While I am coloring or painting or stamping, I am repeating scripture in my mind and contemplating the meaning of these precious words. The creative process draws me in and allows me to linger longer in the Word. My page today gave me the chance to target specific words and think about the many reasons to worship and praise our amazing God.

Psalm 29 is a psalm of worship and praise. It wasn't difficult to find many of the words used in this psalm in stamp form on SRM's two "wordfetti-style" faith stamp sets - Daily Devotion and Scripture Notes. These two sets contain multiple words that can be used in a variety of ways.

After lettering "worship" and coloring it in with marker and watercolor twists, I added several word stamps to emphasize some of the words in the Psalm. I also added a star stamp from another set, Child of God. I created the background using the watercolor twists and a water brush. Then, I added a few highlights with my white pen. I really like how this page turned out and am grateful for the time to worship and praise God through Bible journaling. Be blessed!

Memory Verse Card Holder and Video by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today to share a project I made for my daughter.

Memorizing scripture is important in our home. To keep track of the verses we've memorized this summer, I created a magnetic holder using a small clear box from SRM. It's a perfect size for holding 3x4 cards. It was super easy to create with some scrap paper and SRM's faith stamps and stickers.

For the step-by-step process, check out the video below.

Fear Not Bible Journaling Page & Video by Karen

Hello!  Karen here today to share with some some Bible Journaling and a video too!

Isaiah 40:10 reminds us that our God is with us and helping us. We find renewed strength and courage when we listen to His Word. On this page in my Bible journal, I used a baby wipe to spread soft (acrylic paint) colors across the page. This is a quick and easy way to add lovely color to your background. Watch my process video for instructions on how to create this look.

After my background dried, I boldly lettered "fear not" with black pen (my LePlume II dual-tipped marker worked great here) and added additional stamped details.

You can see in the background that I also added a few pen marks - black dots and light pink crosses.

God Is With You Card & Gift Box by Amber

Hello everyone! It's Amber here, today I'm sharing this stamped religious card and mini kraft gift box.

The other SRM design team members have been sharing some amazing Bible journaling pages lately using some of SRM's newest religious stamps. I haven't gotten around to using the new sets much so I thought I would use the Child of God clear stamp set & the Just Believe clear stamp set to create a card and matching gift box.

I started with a kraft card base and die cut a large pierced rectangle out of some white cardstock. I stamped a flying angle reaching for a star in the center of my white cardstock and added the "God Is With You" sentiment from the Child of God stamp set right above my angel. I also stamped some fancy text over the entire background in a light brown and added some distressed stars to the right side of my panel to created a visual triangle. To finish I misted the entire panel with some Tattered Angles Sea Shell Glimmer mist to add a vintage look to my piece.

I love creating little matching gift boxes or gift bags to go along with my card so I thought I would create one to along with today's card. I folded and assembled a 3"x 3"x 2"Kraft Box from the shop and added some stamping all around the middle portion of my gift box with SRM's Just Believe stamp set. I tied a light teal ribbon around my mini gift box and my card and matching gift box were complete.

I hope you enjoyed my post and project today. Thanks for visiting!

Walk by Faith Bible Journaling by Karen

Hello friends from Karen!  Today I'm sharing a recent Bible journaling entry I created using some of the new Faith stamps. I'm finding lots of inspiration in these new sets and enjoying fitting them together to emphasize scripture verses and tell a story or lesson learned.

Today my entry is in Genesis 50. Many of you may know the story of Joseph, whose brothers sold him into slavery because they were jealous of the attention and gifts he received. Joseph's life was turned upside down and he didn't understand why all this was happening to him. But God knew how to take this bad and use it for good. After many years, Joseph was able to fully forgive his brothers and said to them in verse 20, "As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good...."

I created a dusty background with acrylic paints, symbolizing that we do not always see clearly. I started with the Walk by Faith set and added a few words from other sets to complete my entry. I really like the "spear-like" quality of this large arrow and the mini arrow cross found on the In Jesus' Name set. To finish off the page, I used a black pen to box in the main sentiments and added dots and highlighting with gold and white gel pens. Then I added my own prayer. We don't always understand why bad things happen, but we can continue to step out in faith, trusting in the Lord who sees all, knows all, and will do what is good and right for us.

God Is... Bible Journaling by Christine

Have you checked out the books of the Bible stamps that SRM now carries?  I love them and wanted to use them on my Bible Journaling with a focused list.  Christine joining you today with a Bible Journaling piece titled "God Is…"

I combined a bunch of stamp sets to create this project including:

I really like the script font of the word "God" from the Child of God clear stamp so I was excited to use that over and over! I used the 24 Pc Water Color Pencils and a circle template to create my background.

By combining the New Testament and Old Testament stamps with the Today Tomorrow To Do Planner Stamps I was able to cite each verse that the different statements came from.  A really great solution for a person who doesn't love her handwriting ;).

What different stamps and techniques are you incorporating into your Bible Planning these days?

Mr. & Mrs. Congrats Card by Amber

Hello everyone! It's Amber here, today I'm sharing this Congratulations card I created with SRM's Wedding Plans Clear Planner StampChild of God Clear Stamp, and Quick Cards/Congrats sticker sheet.

Weddings are always a happy event so instead of using the traditional all white and pastel color combo I used a bunch of bright bold colors. I had lots of fun creating this card. Below I have a quick tutorial on how to recreate the pink canvas flower I created for my card front.

Step 1. Cut a circle out of some white canvas or fabric.

Step 2. Cutting from the outside in cut your canvas circle into a spiral. Your spiral does not have to be cut perfectly.

Step 3. Working from the outside in start to roll your canvas into a flower. In the beginning start with a tight roll, as you continue to roll your canvas into a flower loosen up the roll a bit. The tighter you roll your canvas the smaller your flower will be and the looser you roll your canvas the larger your flower will be.

Step 4. This is what your flower will look like when you are finished rolling it. I add a little drop of hot glue to the bottom to hold my flower together.

Before rolling your flower you can mist, paint, or distress your canvas or fabric. I misted my flower with some Tattered Angels Gerber Baseboard Mist and painted it with with some clear pink glitter paint. I also added three stamped leaves to the bottom of my flower.

Once my flower was dry I added it to the bottom right of my stamped piece. For the stamped portion of my card I stamped a bunch of different words and images from the Wedding Plans Clear Planner Stamp and colored them with some Spectrum Noir Markers. I just lined all the words and images I wanted to use up on my stamp block and repeatedly stamped them onto some white cardstock. To finish my card I added a large Congrats sticker from the Quick Cards/Congrats sticker sheet and stamped three little hearts in black from the Child of God Clear Stamp set.

Sweet Spring Mini Cards by Karen

Mini cards are so fun to make! They are a great way to use up all those little scraps of paper and bits that you just couldn't bring yourself to throw out. Today I'm sharing a sweet set of mini cards using all kinds of goodies.

I was going for a fresh spring look, so I started with 3 of the new twine colors from SRM and matched up some stickers and papers and got out my new SRM
Faith stamps, too.

Each card measures about 2 1/4 inches by 3 inches. Starting with that cute polka dot paper as the base, I added stamped sentiments or stickers along with a tied bit of twine. On card I added a cute bit of doily. To finish each off, I also doodled an outline with a black pen.

These came together quickly and, I'll warn you, are a bit addicting to make. Tuck one into your kid's (or husband's) lunch, next to the alarm clock, or keep a few in your purse to hand out at a moment's notice to someone who needs a little pick-me-up. You never know when a thoughtful little card can really make a difference in someone's day.

Here is a quick video so you can see the inside of the cards, too. Each has an additional stamp and then I chose to write in a bible verse. I hope you make a few of these cards with your SRM goodies!
