Pumpkin Candy Boxes! by Michele

Good morning!
Michele here with some fall treats!
I think these little clear boxes are so dang cute!
I took a piece of burlap and adhered it to the outside of the box.

I cut a bunch of pumpkins with my Silhouette. I inked the edges and layered them using Crafty Foam Tape.   I did a bit of Copic coloring on the leaves and layered everything on to the top of the box.  I added a sentiment from the Express Yourself Halloween Sticker set  I even cut out the teeny candy corn and adhered it to a clear button.

I tied the black and white twine and tucked the sentiment underneath and glued the button/candy corn to the top.

My boxes are all ready for my co-workers to receive, for a little sweet pick me up!!

Have a great day!

Burlap Prayer Pouch by Karen

Welcome to the 2nd week of our introduction of the 2016-2017 Design Team.  Today we are sharing a project with our new design team member Karen Hunter.  Karen has been a lover of all things SRM for quite a while and we are thrilled to have her on our design team.

Here are some thoughts from Karen in her own words:

I have been crafting all my life.  It started with gold macaroni covered pencil holders and, thankfully, has matured since then.  After 13 years of teaching middle school and crafting on the side, I landed my dream job as a stay at home mom.  Woven in with full time mommyhood, today I diligently create scrapbooks and other projects and journals in my bible to tell her stories of faith, family, and other bits of life.  I also continue to teach here and there and share my creativity online through blogging and other social media. I enjoy time with family, improving my photography and writing skills, and generally all things crafty. Me and my husband of 21 years try to keep up with our lively 7 year old daughter in Harpers Ferry, WV.

Today I'm showing you this adorable (and useful) little burlap bag turned "Prayer Pouch"  project. I loved sprucing up a plain burlap bag with the happy Vintage ribbon and stamps.

First, I sewed a strip of turquoise Vintage Floral Ribbon to the left side of the burlap bag (don't you love that contrast of the floral with the rough texture of the burlap?). Since I sewed right through both sides of the bag it created a narrow pocket, perfect for one or two of your favorite LePen pens. I stamped "AMEN!" with the BIG Amen Faith Stamp Set directly onto the burlap.

Inside the right side of the pouch, I've inserted some prayer cards. I can use these to write out my prayers or as reminders of prayer requests. I stamped sentiments and stitches using the BIG Amen set and the BIG Trinity Set as well as the arrow stitch from the Lord is My Light set onto cardstock to coordinate with the ribbon colors. Even with the BIG stamps, there is plenty of space to write my prayers and notes.

To keep the cards together I grabbed a large paper clip and looped a bit of the ribbon onto one end. It just adds another fun element to this cute prayer pouch.

The pouch is great for on-the-go and can be tucked in your purse or Bible bag. You could also easily hang this next to your bed for those late-night thoughts of prayer requests and needs - write them down so your brain can rest for the night and then hit your knees in the morning to bring them before the Lord!

Doily Rosette Tutorial by Juliana

Juliana Michaels created this beautiful burlap gift bag using SRM's 5 x 7 Burlap Bag, some of SRM's Doilies, some solid Pink Sorbet Twine, a flower and some jewels.

Love the delicate flower Juliana made with her Pink Sorbet Twine.  YUM!

And here step by step is how you create your doily rosette.  Click on photo to enlarge!

Begin with 3 doilies.  Repeat the following steps with each doily.

1.  Fold the doily in half.  Then fold in half again and again and again for a total of 4 times.

2.  Unfold doilies and cut a slit along one of the crease lines to the middle of the doily.

3.  Accordion fold the doily to look like photo 7 in collage above.

4.  Glue ends together to create your rosette.

5.  Attach doily to front of burlap bag with hot glue gun.  Embellish with twine, flower and jewels.

Now fill your embellished bag with a small gift and it's ready to give to a friend!

Thanks for the inspiration and the tutorial Juliana.  Doilies are so much fun and you've shown us one more way to make them shine!

Wondering how to secure different papers, stickers, embellishments and fibers to your burlap bags?  Angi has given us a few pointers.

Tips for crafting with burlap bags:

1. Staples are great to hold your embellishments to the bag. {Angi stapled underneath the layers so that they are not visible on top}

2. Fabric glue is also great to use on the bags.

You can use these bags in so many ways!  They are perfect for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, or any type of gifting.

Burlap Wedding Favors by Yvonne

This week we feature new products from SRM.  As we are at CHA sharing these products with our stores, please enjoy what our design team has been creating with fabric bags, Take 2 stickers, Doilies and some clear boxes.

Yvonne Yam loves her new burlap bags from SRM and decided they would make the perfect wedding and wedding shower favors teamed with the new Take 2 - Stickers by the Dozen wedding design, some SRM doilies, some flowers and lace.  All these products are right up Yvonne's crafty alley!

The medium burlap bag is a perfect wedding favor.  Love how Yvonne uses both doilies and beautiful lace on this project. And the SRM sticker border is such a fun accent. The flower, the gem and the lace all give lots of added texture and dimension to the bag.

New Product Review

SRM has been introducing our new products this week. Today we give you a review of all new products.  Sit back, relax and enjoy!

Our design is simply LOVING these new stickers that offer a combination of round stickers and matching borders.  The Take 2 stickers come in 4 designs:  Birthday, Baby, Graduation and Wedding.  These are all events that need multiples.  The stickers measure 12" x 6".  You'll love the longer borders!

Birthday toppers are great for invites, cards, cupcakes and containers!  You can use these sticker on layouts as well.  So much fun!

Perfect for Birthday parties, favors, invites and more!

See all Take 2 designs HERE.

SRM has a large selection of containers and now we add more.  This time the containers are in fabric! That's right!  Fabric bags!  How fun is that?

We are doing Muslin bags in 3 sizes (3" x 5", 4" x 6 and 5" x 7").  You can stamp on them, stencil on them or decorate them with lace, ribbon, flowers, twine and even stickers!

See what Angi Barrs did using a muslin bag and some SRM Stickers!  So much fun!  Angi's such a sucker for muslin bags, I asked her to whip something up special!  Who knew that SRM's clear stickers would work so well on fabric?  Angi loved using this one decorated with stamps, stickers and twine at her Christmas celebration.

And SRM is offering Burlap bags in 2 sizes (3" x 5" and 5" x 7").  I love burlap and made a wedding favor using the 5 x 7 bag, some of SRM's new Take 2 Wedding stickers and a doily.  Easy peasy yet oh so pretty!

I think we are going to have ourselves some FUN with these new fabric bags!

SRM is introducing 2 new clear containers and 1 new clear bag.
Here's a mini box that is perfect for little 3 x 3 cards.

And here's a larger box that's perfect for A2 Cards.  How fun combining cards and containers!

And here's a 1" x 8" clear bag that's perfect for candy and sticker toppers!  It's kind of an inexpensive TUBE! :)

Don't know about you, but I love doilies.  We are adding doilies to the SRM line and I think you are going to have some fun with these!

SRM has added one more Pencil Sentiment to our line.  It's "Happy Graduation" which will be fun for favors or to tie onto a gift.  Decorate with school colors using card stock and twine.

The biggest surprise from SRM is that we are now offering Vinyl.  It is such an interesting and versatile craft product and SRM is offering the largest selection of vinyl in the industry that includes Matte, Gloss, Glitter, Metallic, Chalkboard, Dry Erase, Stencil and Transfer Tape.

Check out this fabulous wedding favor that Juliana Michaels has created using SRM Vinyl, Glassine Bags,  SRM's new Wedding Take 2 Stickers by the Dozen and 3 different colors of Twinery Twine.  Love this!

Here's the colors offered for Matte & Gloss.  Just think of all the school, sports and wedding colors that you can match!  And the SRM design team will be showing you new and innovative ways to use this product making cards and containers combining vinyl with stickers and twine as well!

In addition to matte & gloss SRM will be offering the following:

Glitter
Metallic
Chalkboard
Dry Erase
Stencil
Transfer Tape

What do stickers and Vinyl have in common?  Well, they both have adhesive and they are both very fun.  And they are both totally crafty!  I think that we are going to have lots of fun with Vinyl, don't you?  What's your favorite color?  What's your favorite style?
