Fancy Thank You by Diane

Hello!  Diane Jaquay here today with an elegant card that uses the beautiful SRM Fancy Sticker Sentiment Thanks.  I combined wonderful patterned papers, dies and SRM Doilies in creating this card.  Isn't that sentiment lovely?!  It fits perfectly inside the PTI Tag Sale #11 die.

SRM Stickers Blog - Fancy Thank You by Diane - #card #doily #fancy #stickers #thank you

To make this card I started with Pebbles Americana paper for my card base.  Next I cut an SRM 4" round white doily in half and placed the 2 pieces, staggered, to cover more of the card.  I cut the kraft flag from an MFT die.  I cut some white and some vellum leaves from PTI's Turning a New Leaf dies.  I finished my card by adding a few clear sequins to the tag.

The sentiment is one of many to choose from on this beautiful sheet of clear Fancy Sticker Sentiments in a Thank You theme from SRM!

I love that this card is elegant, yet it has a homespun feel to it. Maybe it's time for you to get "Fancy" too!  All the Fancy Sticker Sentiment designs from which to choose can be found HERE.

Back to School Jars by Cathy H.

Hi! Cathy Harper here, sharing a couple of quick projects created with mason jars and SRM Stickers!  My little granddaughter, Raini, will be going to first grade this August so I made a couple of gifts for her to take her teacher on the first day of school!

I painted two mason jars.  First I applied a coat of flat black paint, let it dry and then added a couple of coats of yellow.  After they are completely dry, you can scrape the paint off of any areas you want to look distressed with your fingernail.  Next, have fun and add some SRM Stickers.  I added a bunch of pencils and then completed my vase with SRM Stickers and twine.  I used First Grade/Say with Stickers mini for my pennant and added it to a straw, then added Maraschino Twine....my favorite!  And just to pull all of the reds together, I added the adorable little apple sticker from the Say It with Stickers/Teacher set.

For the second vase, I made a tag with SRM Stickers and added a bit of hemp twine and a whole bunch of flowers.  And yes, I will get Raini new flowers to take on the first day of school!

Here's a close up of the tag created with Labels by the Dozen/Bright and
Say It with Stickers/Teacher set!   I just add a few paper flowers, a button and a bit more maraschino twine to finish it!

I love how these turned out and I know Raini will love taking these to school on her first day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie

Hello its Shantaie Fowler here today and my craftroom is positively billowing in ruffled crepe paper! Would you like to know how easy it is to make your own? You can add ruffles like the ones on my Halloween treat bag for mere pennies!

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

Lets get started!  You will need a roll of crepe paper party streamer {even a leftover partial roll will do}, a sewing machine or hand sewing needle and thread.

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

Start with your machine pressure foot down and the end of your paper up against the needle. Your stitch length should be at 3 or higher.  Begin stitching while holding your hand up against the the paper that is being fed through.

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

The paper will ruffle as you stitch, you can pull the threads for more ruffle or use as is. Keep in mind that different brands and thicknesses of paper will end in varying results. {that is a good thing if you ask me}  You can whip up yards of crepe ruffles in minutes, or just ruffle the amount you need. I tend to be the "make a ton -o-ruffles" girl myself!

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

I added a strip of adhesive right above the embossed area of the embossed Chevron Glassine Bag to adhere the ruffle to.

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

Peel away the backing and place the center of the ruffle along the adhesive.

Now you are ready to add as many or as few detailed embellishments as you prefer to your bag. I used a Large scallop circle Punched Piece, a black and white SRM Labels by the Dozen  and a Take 2 Halloween sticker to build a round focal point to the bag.

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

I used another black and white label to create a flag highlighting a sentiment from Stickers by the Dozen Trick or Treat it is tucked slightly behind the circle.  And overlaps the edge a little.  TIP: When I use stickers as banners or stand alone pieces I usually place them on cardstock first.

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

I love adding extra touches like twine and pom poms to dress up the ruffles!  And a stamped image too!

SRM Stickers Blog - Ruffled Crepe Paper Tutorial by Shantaie - #embossed #glassine #bags #Halloween, Labels #stickers #twine #treat bags #favors

I have been making my own ruffled crepe for a long time, I hope you will find lots of uses and ways to use it in your crafty adventures!

Chalkboard Vinyl Decor by Lorena

Lorena Canto is in the house today with a fabulous home decor project for her craft room.  Take it away Lorena!

"Hi everyone! Lorena here with a fun and very easy idea to spice up your crafty space. After all, we spend a lot of time in there making pretty things to give to others, right? So lets surround ourselves with beautiful things too! I made a chalkboard inspired frame with a custom phrase, using SRM's Chalkboard Vinyl."

SRM Stickers Blog - Chalkboard Vinyl Decor by Lorena - #vinyl #chalkboard #decor

"This inexpensive frame is from Ikea and it's perfect to customize. I started adhering a piece of floral patterned paper to a piece of cardstock. Then, I trimmed a rectangle from the Chalkboard Vinyl. You get a huge 12 x 24 inches piece, so I still have plenty of it for future projects. Win win :)

And now comes the fun part! I made a cardstock template with my electronic die cutting machine using a free font and the phrase I wanted on my frame. After die cutting it, I placed it on the chalkboard vinyl, secured it with tape and filled in the phrase with a chalk marker."

SRM Stickers Blog - Chalkboard Vinyl Decor by Lorena - #vinyl #chalkboard #decor

"Ta•da! Here's a detail shot. I adhered it to the frame with some washi tape."

SRM Stickers Blog - Chalkboard Vinyl Decor by Lorena - #vinyl #chalkboard #decor

"As you can see, the lettering is not perfect, but isn't that the beauty of handmade? However, if you end up with a big oops on your art piece, the chalkboard marker wipes easily from this chalkboard vinyl even after drying, so you can fix it using a baby wipe or a damp cloth and nobody will notice."

WOW!  Love this project Lorena! Great inspiration.
Hope you all have a fantastic day and thanks so much for visiting the SRM blog!

Doily Flower Card Tutorial by Cathy A.

Hello from Cathy Andronicou with a fun and fabulous idea for using SRM Doilies!  This tutorial post is long but I think you will find it worth it!

I recently saw an amazing card and video by Bibiana Martinez-Ziegler HERE and thought how cool it would be to alter Bibina's design and create with doilies and inks. I checked with her to make sure that she was ok with my idea and she was so we are good to go!  The principle of how it is put together is the same, but with a few of my own tweaks. Can you believe that those flowers are SRM doilies?  Amazing!

Here are the SRM products that I used in this project:
SRM White Lace Doilies 4" round, Fancy Sticker Sentiments Birthday, Sticker Sentiments Happy Birthday.
Other products used:  Imagine Crafts/Tsukineko Memento Ink Pear Tart, Rose Bud and Lilac Posies, Copic Marker RV17, Spellbinders Bitty Blooms die (leaves), Marianne Die Branch, Duch Doobadoo stencil Chicken Wire, Pink Ribbon, Pearl Flower Stamens, Green and Pink card.

And here is a tutorial on how to create it.  To see larger images, simply click on the photos.

1.  Create flowers by inking the doilies, then fold in 1/2, then 1/4 and then 1/8, cut a wedge using the lines of one of the segments as a guide, then cut the top so you get a decorative edge, glue the wedges either side of the cut together to form your flower and then glue stamen in the middle.

2. Don't throw away the wedge you cut out, curl and place to one side for the front of the card.

3. Arrange all the flowers and glue as per Bibiana's video. Add leaves, sentiment and border stickers.

4. The SRM Fancy Birthday Stickers and pink rick rack borders add the perfect touch!

5. For the front, group the curled wedges and glue to form a flower just beginning to bloom, attach to green card that has been stenciled with chicken wire pattern and add branch die, mount onto pink card and place ribbon behind to tie the card closed. Mount onto main card.

 6. Add sentiment to finish!

Thank you to Bibiana Martinez-Ziegler for her inspiration. What a talent!  I had such a great time creating this project.  I hope that you will give it a try!

Chalkboard Vinyl Countdown Board by Christine

Do you love adding vinyl projects to your house?  I do!  Christine Meyer joining you today with a very simple vinyl project that can be easily done in any home using SRM's Chalkboard Vinyl!  Pair it with one other type of vinyl and create your own Countdown Board!

SRM Stickers Blog - Chalkboard Vinyl Countdown Board by Christine - #vinyl #chalkboard, #transfer tape #home decor #countdown

My daughter is a planner and loves to know exactly how many days until .... So I thought this would be a perfect addition to our kitchen wall!  The nice thing about this project is that you don't need anything extra - just the vinyl and some chalk (or a chalk marker).

SRM Stickers Blog - Chalkboard Vinyl Countdown Board by Christine - #vinyl #chalkboard, #transfer tape #home decor #countdown

I cut out the chalkboard shape and the words using an electronic die cutting machine.  Using Transfer Tape I added the Bubblegum Vinyl portion. Then I went to town decorating with my chalk marker.  Chalk marker is just a little more neat than regular chalk and comes off with water.  When I created this my husband was out of town so we started with that countdown!  Now we're counting down to vacation as seen in the first picture. Drawing and decorating is a little out of my normal comfort zone but it is fun to just doodle and see where things go!

SRM Stickers Blog - Chalkboard Vinyl Countdown Board by Christine - #vinyl #chalkboard, #transfer tape #home decor #countdown

I went with the Bubblegum Vinyl for a couple of reasons - I knew the lighter color would really pop against the black and I knew if I overshot on erasing it wouldn't mess with the pink too much!

Did you know we have an All Things SRM Vinyl facebook page???  If you haven't checked it out - you should!  Even better - share a project with us!

Fancy Birthday Card by Michele

Michele Kovack here with a soft feminine birthday card perfect for the special women in your life: mothers, daughters, sisters, friends.  The background was created using a stencil and pastel inks.  I used SRM's Fancy Sentiment Birthday sticker and placed it on a piece of vellum.  I wanted the stenciling underneath to show through.  SRM's clear stickers are perfectly see through!

SRM Stickers Blog - Fancy Birthday Card by Michele - #birthday #card #fancy #stickers #stencil #twine

I used coordinating Twinery Twine and glued it in place.  The flowers were cut using a Spellbinder's die and coffee filters. The coffee filters were inked using the same colors I had used on the background. They were stacked and glued into place.  I added sequins to the centers of the flowers as well as a few on the card itself.

Hi Sweet Friend by Diane

Hello from Diane Jaquay here to share a sweet treat with you today.

Recently I was in the grocery store and saw some delicious looking strawberry and creme gummy candies and I thought they would make a great gift for a friend packaged with some beautiful SRM packaging!  I love the SRM clear purses!  They're perfect for gift giving, so I decorated a medium size purse and filled it with the candy.  I used a 4" white doily and large and medium  white punched pieces, which I topped with a strawberry sticker from We've Got Your Sticker/Sweet.

SRM Stickers Blog - Hi Sweet Friend by Diane - #purse #doily #gift #punched pieces #twine #stickers

The punched pieces are great for making a quick and easy tag.  For my tag here I layered  large, medium and small  Punched Pieces and added a "hi" sticker from We've Got Your Sticker Hello.  I used PTI's Memory Clip dies to cut two green clips and I added the words "sweet" from We've Got Your Sticker/Sweet and "friend" from We've Got Your Sticker Plus/Sweet to them and attached them to the tag.  The tag looks a bit like a flower, don't you think?

SRM Stickers Blog - Hi Sweet Friend by Diane - #purse #doily #gift #punched pieces #twine #stickers

I love how many stickers are on this SRM sheet and how many other projects I can do with it.  Can't wait to use the white sentiments.  Just love them and how the stand out on darker card stock.

Thanks for dropping by the blog today.  We love giving you lots of "sweet" sticker inspiration!

Craft Room Door Decor by Annette

Hello and welcome to another fun way to use SRM Stickers Vinyl.  Annette Allen has created some door decor for her craft-room.  How fun is that?

SRM Stickers Blog - Craft Room Door Decor by Annette - #vinyl #home decor #gloss

Using SRM Glossy White Vinyl and her Silhouette Cameo, Annette decided that she needed a sign for her craft room where she spends a lot of time! The script is part of the program and so is the adorable heart.

SRM Stickers Blog - Craft Room Door Decor by Annette - #vinyl #home decor #gloss

You will want to remove the area of the image that you do not wish to use. That's called weeding.  Once you have weeded your vinyl you will take the image and transfer it to the SRM Transfer Paper which is a must have for using vinyl.

SRM Stickers Blog - Craft Room Door Decor by Annette - #vinyl #home decor #gloss

Now you are ready to transfer the image to it's new home.

Now Annette's crafty room is complete. This is a simple yet cute way to decorate your craftroom or any other room you might have with glass doors.
