Gift Holder Tutorial by Carole Kisch

by Carole Kisch

Today I have a tutorial for you ~ a holiday gift bag that you can make using one piece of 12x12" patterned paper, two brads, and your favourite festive embellies. I used SRM Stickers; Winter Wishes #51009 and BasicGrey.

Step 1:
Choose a piece of 12x12 patterned paper. Score at 1, 5, 6, 7 and 11 inches.

Step 2:
Rotate your paper one quarter turn and score at 3-1/2 and 8-1/2 inches.

Step 3: Fold your paper at your 1-inch and 11-inch score lines, and at the 3-1/2 and 8-1/2 inch score lines. You will end up with a sleeve that looks like this...

Step 4: Fold along the 5, 6 and 7-inch score lines. Your middle line will form the inside peak of the gift bag...

Step 5: Attach two brads to the inside panels of the bag...

Add your sentiment...

Add your gift cards...

And you're finished!

Thank you, Carole! We have a special treat for you tomorrow -- Guest Designer, Sarah Martina Parker! You will love what she's done with SRM Stickers.

SRM & BasicGrey

Welcome! We are so excited to share several projects with you today, using new BasicGrey collections. BasicGrey treated us to 5 of their newest lines so sit back and enjoy! Be sure to visit the Designer's blogs for more details and photos!

Amy Heller worked with BasicGrey's playful collection, "Wander". She shows us that it's perfect for layouts or cards!

Becky Williams got to work with "Pyrus", a subtle, earthy collection. Please check out her BLOG for more project photos.

Here's Becky to describe her project; Instead of using a SRM Calendar as a calendar, I opted to do a mini and my family will use this to write down what we're grateful for this Thanksgiving, a annual tradition for us. All SRM stickers in this mini are from: Sticker Sentiments (51012)- Fall.

The talented, Tania Willis worked with BasicGrey's "Marjolaine" line - a beautiful assortment of sea-colored patterned paper. You can see more at Tania's BLOG.

Tania's thoughts; I used SRM Sticker Sentiments - Love (51004) for my project. Everything you see is SRM or BasicGrey, with the exception of the paper doily and brads. The round metal frame is old-school BasicGrey. The background was created using a square punch, then all sides were inked with charcoal ink. The scalloped border was created using a Marvy punch. The remainder is layered stickers/flowers cut from the patterned paper.

I played with BasicGrey's new holiday line, "Jovial". I created large gift tags that measure 3 1/2" x 5". I used BasicGrey's cardstock image stickers along with SRM Stickers from the Happy Holidays Sticker Sentiments set (51001).

Thank you, BasicGrey, for the stunning collections, and for allowing us to do our SRM magic with them!
