Thinking of You Card by Michele

Michele Kovack is here today playing with her favorite new SRM product, Punched Pieces!  She's having a lot of fun with these.  Here's her project described in her own words.

"Hi there! Michele here with another idea for using those fun SRM punched shapes!  I had this great fern stamp by JustRite Papercraft and stamped it in glue on cream cardstock. I then stamped it in 3 other colors of glitter on the punched pieces, and placed them over the first image using pop dots."

"I wanted to connect the 3 punched pieces so I used some flowers I had created using my Silhouette, gold cording, black string, and a thinking of you sentiment from SRM. I added a few sequins and matted the main image in coordinating colors."

Michele has some more cards in the near future using these
Punched Pieces! So stay tuned!  Who would have thought that such a simple product would provide such crafty inspiration for Michele?  Love it!

Mixed Media Canvas & Video by Shery

Shery Russ is here with us today with a fabulous project, an 8" by 10" mixed media canvas PLUS a video featuring the Scalloped Circle Punched Pieces. All of our design team members are loving these punched pieces! The are on almost every project.  As soon as Shery saw her Punched Pieces, she wanted to use them in a mixed media project.  It's interesting that something as simple as punched scalloped circles have become such a Design Team favorite!

SRM Stickers Blog - Mixed Media Canvas & Video by Shery - #card #mixed media #punched pieces #stickers #stitches

Shery partially stamped a daisy (one she had illustrated) on 3 white large scalloped circle punched pieces, watercolored them with Inktense blocks, and then inked/sponged the edges with Ranger archival ink, Coffee.

She layered the large punched pieces with black medium scalloped circles. See her video and how she has added SRM 4" Doilies and black Sticker Stitches to the mix.

To create the textured background on the canvas, Shery started by adhering designer paper with a newsprint design using gel medium. Next, she applied an uneven coat of gesso all over to lighten the background. She used modeling paste onto the 12" by 12" Love Post and Sketch Grid stencils from The Crafter's Workshop. Shery simply built on the background from there, adding distress paints, Gelatos, and rub-ons as she went along. Shery also added some Sticker Stitches and finished the canvas by partially stamping a script stamp all over.  I love how so many different products that are probably in your stash can be used together with SRM products to create so many amazing projects.

Here's another look at the finished canvas. Shery's got a video showing how she made this from start to finish and you'll find it HERE.

I hope you're inspired by Shery's canvas and that you enjoyed the video!  I love how SRM's Clear Stickers are perfect for Mixed Media and I'm tickled how much Shery loves her Punched Pieces and how she's added them into the Mixed Media mix.  Fantastic project!

Doily Hello Card by Tessa Wise

Hello!  Tessa Wise has a card for us today featuring the new 6 inch and 4" Gold Doilies.  They are among her favorite new SRM products!

SRM Stickers Blog - Doily Hello Card by Tessa Wise - #card #doilies #gold #stickers #stiitches #vellum

The 6 inch round doily is such a nice size!  Here, Tessa has folded it in half and you can see how it looks on a regular A-2 sized card.

She started with a card base made of kraft cardstock. Tessa then added a panel of patterned paper from the Authentique Adventure Collection 6x6 pad and sewed around the edges with her sewing machine.  Next she added doilies. YUM!  Tessa folded the 6 inch round doily in half to add the look of layers.  She cut the Gold doily in half so it looks like it's wrapped around the white one.  She added a zig zag stitch from the Black Sticker Stitches sheet to the top edge and then sewed along over all the layers with her machine, leaving the end threads long.

The bracketed hello sticker is from the Quick Cards/Hello sticker sheet.  Tessa added it to a vellum label die cut and adhered it to her card.  Next came her embellishments: vellum flowers from the Pen Pals collection by Pink Paislee, the flair button by Jenni Bowlin Studio, and blue sequins from the Urban Market collection by Teresa Collins.  Tessa just loves how well all the elements work together!

Thanks for joining us today!   Hope that we've given you lots of Doily inspiration!  Doilies are just too much fun!

Happy Summer by Shannon

Today we welcome Shannon Morgan back to the SRM Design Team.  She's one of the **Emeritus** members.  Sometimes when you start using SRM Stickers you become addicted and this was the case with Shannon!  She's hooked!

When Shannon plays with paper and stickers the results are magical!  I would love to watch her work on a layout or card as she layers so many wonderful little details into her project.  This summer layout is no exception with fabulous photos of her kids playing in summer.

SRM Stickers Blog - Happy Summer by Shannon - #layout #summer #borders #stickers #stitches #water

I love how Shannon puts SRM Stickers right onto her photo.  They melt down onto any surface as if they are printed on that surface, even photos.  And she loves the impact of the sticker without losing the effect of any of the photo.

Shannon loves how she can layer with SRM and loves the look of vellum in the mix.  YUM!

The use of SRM Borders and Sticker Stitches are so much fun on this layout!

Love the way the SRM Sticker looks mounted on vellum with that "Sunny Smiles" sticker.

For Shannon, crafting is in the details but the overall effect is so free and fun!  Hope that you'll try some of Shannon's techniques on your next layout.  Click on each photo to enlarge so you can see every detail!

Birthday Mini Calendar by Christine

Mini calendars make perfect little gifts that have the special homemade touch!  Christine Meyer's husband's family is now up to 26 people and that makes keeping track of birthdays absolutely brutal!  Her in laws are always happy to receive a new calendar with all the birthdays on it so she got a jump on this one for 2015!  And you are in for a treat!

To package the calendar Christine used a Clear Mini Box and then decorated the outside using Large and Medium Punched PiecesTake 2 Stickers by the Dozen - Birthday, and We've Got Your Border Stickers Birthday.

She made one long accordion folded style calender by adhering together 3 inch wide pieces of cardstock and doing some scoring.

Christine decorated each square with a Medium Black Punched Piece, some Black Sticker Stitches, and of course the Mini Calendar Stickers - Standard.

Her last step was to cut up pieces of the Birthday Border stickers and use the dots to highlight each birthday.  Christine color coordinated them by family too!  Brilliant!  I think I'm going to have to make some of these.  Who wouldn't love to receive such a practical, crafty, personalized gift!  Calendar perfection!

A Boy's Life Layout by Cathy H.

Cathy Harper has created a wonderful layout that's all about a boy, her grandson Gideon!  Cathy found him a Superman cap that's just perfect for her little superhero!  She loved the photo so much, she knew she needed to create a page.

For her layout, Cathy used lots stickers from SRM's Everyday Boy sheet.  She loves how these clear stickers just melt down into the page and look like the text is printed right onto the page.

SRM Stickers Blog - A Boy's Life Layout by Cathy H.- #layout #boy #everyday #stickers #punched pieced #twine

Cathy loved adding lots of little extras to her page made using the Everyday Boy stickers like the 100% Boy paperclip she created or the little red cross stitches or the loopy border on the bottom both from SRM's Sticker Stitches.  She also loved using some SRM Punched Pieces in black giving the layout more pop and as a great point of focus.  Love the special little heart at the bottom of her page symbolizing how Gideon truly steals her heart everyday.  She finished  off the layout by adding her favorite embellishment, Maraschino Red Baker's Twine.  YUM!

Here's the Everyday Boy Sticker and as you can see there are lots more stickers that Cathy can use on another layout featuring Gideon.  Wonder what he'll do next?

Thanks Cathy for a darling layout of a darling boy!

Card Gift Set by Shery

Let's welcome Shery Russ to the SRM Team.  This is her first post and you are in for a treat!

Shery loves creating card gift sets.  For this set she combined stamping, SRM Sticker Sentiments, a SRM Doily and a clear A-2 Box topped with a SRM Made by Label to hold her special cards.

SRM Stickers Blog - Card Gift Set by Shery - #gift #cards #A2 #stickers #doilies #thank you #happy #stamping

This set of cards are all one layer.  They are inexpensive to make and easy to mail.  But Shery says that one layer cards are a challenge by themselves as every time she sets out to create them, it pushes her to come up with creative ways to use stamps, inks and stickers.  Instead of relying on layering, you have to rely on one dimensional design.

SRM Stickers Blog - Card Gift Set by Shery - #gift #cards #A2 #stickers #doilies #thank you #happy #stamping

Shery stamped 6 A2 cards,  in different colors.  She then affixed clear sticker sentiments from SRM, 3 thank you and 3 Oh Happy Day.

These cards, along with matching white envelopes, fit perfectly inside the A2 Card Box.  What a delicious grouping of cards and what a perfect gift for a teacher or friend.

Once all her cards were done, Shery decorated the clear box with Sticker Stitches and made a topper using SRM's 4" white doilies.  She took two doilies folded in half and then pleated.  She inked the edges of the doily to match the splatters on the top card.  She attached Velcro on two ends of a burlap ribbon and then glued her topper onto one of the ends.  That Made with Love Sticker is mounted on on Punched Piece.  Our design team members are loving the Punched Pieces.  Easy peasy!

SRM Stickers Blog - Card Gift Set by Shery - #gift #cards #A2 #stickers #doilies #thank you #happy #stamping

When Shery made these cards, she did them assembly line style so the cards were done in quick time. With one sticker sheet, you can make at least a dozen cards with the images and sentiments (24 cards if you use them separately)...and then you've got mini sentiments to use on tags, journal cards, or your other paper craft projects.

Thanks for the inspiration Shery.  This card set is totally awesome!

Hooray USA! by Cathy H.

The SRM Blog usually doesn't have Saturday posts but on this long weekend we thought you would enjoy some 4th of July layout inspiration from Cathy Harper.  She loves making layouts and loves using SRM Stickers mounted on vellum or right down on her patterned papers!  SRM Stickers truly melt right down onto any surface that you are working on.  Click on these photos to see all the fun details!

Cathy's layout is of her adorable little 4th of July pup.  She has the most patient bulldog ever who puts up with all of of Cathy's photo taking props.

SRM had all of the perfect stickers to add some great layers to her layout.  Cathy used We've Got Your Border/Patriotic for some added pops of color along the top of the page and bottom of her layout and then she used them again on two sides of her photo.  Cathy created to little vellum pennants using the Stickers By The Dozen/Patriotic and the We've Got Your Border stickers.

She finished with a couple of flags from Stickers By The Dozen, Small White Punched Pieces and some Maraschino Twine!  Love this photo of her bulldog Stella and all the little details that SRM Stickers added!  And love the use of vellum with SRM clear stickers.

Happy Day by Michele

Happy 4th of July!  Hope you are all planning lots of "happy" things to do throughout the day and evening.

Today we are sharing the first project from Michele Kovack whose crafting skills are amazing.  We are so blessed to have her on our team. Prepare for some  inspiration! :)

When Michele thinks of "happy" she usually thinks of bright, fun colors!  So when she took her bag of Punched Pieces from SRM she wanted them to reflect happiness.  She took out her alcohol inks and started randomly squirting them the white scalloped circles with various colors.  She loved the splotched, colorful look!

SRM Stickers Blog - Happy Day by Michele - #card #punched pieces #alcohol ink #stickers #twine

Since Michele is a total hoarder and never seems to throw anything away, she keeps all of her cuts from previous projects.  In a way, it's a good thing she does, because it saves her time later!  The flower she used on this project, for example, was from a previous project that didn't make the cut.  The leaves were also from something else but the worked perfectly here!   Michele added a bit of ribbon and her Happy Day sentiment sticker from SRM's Stickers by the Dozen Birthday Birdie sheet.

SRM Stickers Blog - Happy Day by Michele - #card #punched pieces #alcohol ink #stickers #twine

Michele loved how this card turned out and has a few more ideas about how to used SRM's Punched Pieces.  Stay tuned for more Punched Pieces projects in the very near future!  Have a happy day!
