Monogramed Vinyl Canvas by Latrice

Latrice Murphy has a new favorite gift to make for her daughter's friends.  She always tries to give something meaningful and special to her daughter's friends.  They all know how crafty she is and this 8 x 8 canvas is the perfect personalized monogramed gift.

Latrice chose Bubblegum Pink and Dark Grey SRM Vinyl for this project.  Here are the steps that Latrice did to create this project:

1.  First Latrice created the design in her Silhouette.
2.  Latrice cut her pink vinyl into a cool chevron pattern and the initial in grey.
3.  Then she covered her canvas in Mod Podge.
4.  Transferring her vinyl to the canvas, Latrice pressed the design from the back, then turned it over and adjusted the vinyl.  The Mod Podge will still be wet so you can slide the vinyl into perfect position.

5.  Once in place, Latrice added more Mod Podge over the top.

6.  Then she added the initial and finished it off with another layer of Mod Podge.

7.  Next Latrice choose ribbon, a beautiful pleated ribbon from May Arts.

Latrice used her hot glue gun and created a faux bow with two tails that she hot glued into place.  Love the touch of bling on the bow!

Latrice can make lots more of these darling gifts changing the colors and the ribbons to make them all different.  Love the idea of a monogramed canvas to decorate a girl's room.  Such a thoughtful, personalized gift!

St. Patrick's Day Card by Shelly

Shelly Kurth loved making this playful St. Paddy's Day card using SRM's new Doilies and SRM's Express Yourself St. Pat's design.  I love Shelly's minimalist design, just decorating the upper left corner of the card.  And love how the doily gives some added texture to the card.

The popped up die cut rainbow and clouds and the enamel dots give added dimension to the card.  And the Solid Honeydew Twinery Twine is the perfect finishing touch to Shelly's card.

St. Paddy's Celebration by Michelle & Vinyl WINNER!

Today we have a pair of St. Patrick's Day projects for you from Michelle Giraud.

First up is a wonderful card inspired by a scrap of rainbow paper Michelle found. She thought it would be perfect for a St. Patrick's day card.  And it was!

Using the rainbow paper for half the background, Michelle then made the shamrock to split the card in 2.

The shamrock was made with 4 heart die cut shapes with the edges sanded and then adding a hand cut stem. Michelle then used a fine point black market for faux stitches and dots.  The sentiments are from SRM's Express Yourself St. Patrick's Day design.

And for her second project, Michelle created some clear containers to hold some salty treats to go with the beer at her St. Paddy's day celebration.  Michelle used SRM's Clear Rectangular Box and Clear Tall Thin Box and filled them with pretzels & nuts.  These clear containers are food safe!

SRM's St. Patrick's Day Say it with Stickers is just perfect for decorating these containers.

Michelle topped off her boxes with a lovely bright green bow.  How festive!

Vinyl Party Game by Angélique

When Angélique Jarrier received her new SRM Vinyl she was excited to try it.  She wanted to create a fun game for her daughter's Lilou's birthday party so she set the work.  Lilou loves Monster High so that was the theme of the party!

First Angélique chose White, Black and Pink SRM Vinyl.

SRM Stickers Blog - Vinyl Party Game by Angélique - #vinyl #stickers #party #game #Monster High

Not having a Silhouette or Cricut, Angélique created templates from images found on a Monster High fan website:   http://www.fanpop.com/clubs/monster-high

I'm always amazed at the intricate projects that Angélique loves to make. And hand cutting all these pieces is truly a labor of love.  I know that the "cool ghouls" will appreciate it!  Here's the image on the back of her black SRM Vinyl.  It's from Oracal, the finest vinyl available.

Here are the black and white images that she hand cut and layered on her final project.

And here are the two pieces put together!  Her Monster High image is coming together nicely.

Now Angélique creates pink bow ties.

And she adds some black vinyl to give detail to them.

She then adds black velcro on the back of each bow.  And she places some black velcro onto the black bow so that she can attach the pink bow onto the black bow.

She made a template for Monster High.

And then cut out the letters.

Angélique put it all together and here's the finished project!  A darling game for the girls to play.  The object of the game is who can place the pink bow on just the right place.  Kind of an updated version of "Pin the Tail on the Donkey"!  FUN!

Spellbinders & SRM Vinyl by Yvonne

Yvonne Yam loves creating gift boxes especially when the packaging can be reused by the recipient.  When Yvonne got her new Gold Metallic SRM Vinyl, she saw gift wrapping written all over it!

Using SRM Gold Metallic Vinyl, Yvonne cut out a delicate Spellbinders swirl frame.  You can make lots of goodies out of one 12" x 24" sheet!

Yvonne than added some glittered card stock and a Thinking of You Sticker Sentiment at the base and some beautiful blooms at the top.

Yvonne created an insert for the Clear A2 box using heavyweight card stock and adhered lace to it.  What a great way to add some textural interest and cover up the gift that's inside the box.

Yvonne tucked some treats inside her beautiful box.  What a lovely gift to give a friend, a teacher or co-worker.

I wonder what else Yvonne is going to do with that Gold Metallic SRM Vinyl?

Stay tuned for more vinyl inspiration tomorrow when Angélique creates a fun party game using SRM Vinyl on our final day of "Vinyl Week" here on the SRM Blog.  Be sure to leave a comment for a chance to WIN our stash of SRM Vinyl.  It just might be YOU!

Puppy Love by Juliana

Juliana Michaels loves her dog Milo and wanted to make a special treat for him.  Her husband suggested that she create some special "Milo Bowls" for his food and water and off she went with her SRM Vinyl to create them!

Using SRM's Black and Red Matte Vinyls, Juliana designed some paw print and heart  images.  There are FREE cutting files on Juliana's blog today!

Here's Milo's water bowl.  How fun!  Did you know that SRM's Matte Vinyl is made by Oracal and made in the USA?  It's the finest quality.

The red vinyl looks fabulous on that silver bowl.

And here's Milo enjoying his new personalized bowls!

I love all the fun and fabulous things that you can do with vinyl!  Want to win some?  We are giving away a stash of vinyl this week.  Just leave a comment here on the blog and you will be in the running.

Vinyl Trimmed Purse by Michelle

Michelle Giraud wanted to make a bright, fun candy holder for Easter using the new SRM Glitter Vinyl sheets.  She used Glitter Sky Blue Teal and Glitter Pink Fizz.  Super cute!

Michelle used a Medium Clear Purse from SRM and decorated the front with Sky Blue Teal SRM Vinyl that she cut out with a decorative Spellbinders die.  She says "the vinyl works great with these dies and the cutouts punch out cleanly".  Michelle traced the handle of the purse and adhered more of the teal glitter vinyl to it.  Fun!

Michelle used a combination of stickers as her main embellishments.  Stickers and Vinyl are a perfect fit.   They are both sticky and crafty and oh so fun!  The Happy Day Label is great for any occasion whether a birday or in the case, Easter.  Michelle matted the Label sticker on Pink Fizz glitter vinyl and mounted the cute little chick from SRM's Easter Quick Card on a scalloped circle of the pink fizz as well.

With the scraps from her project Michelle made a little 3 x 3 matching gift card using the same stickers and vinyl used on the purse.

She tied a matching bow using a large serving fork to create it.  Simply weave the ribbon through the tines in 5 rows, then tie with a small piece of the ribbon.  It makes the CUTEST, small bow which sits nice and flat.  There are lots of tutorials for doing this on Pinterest or videos on YouTube.

What a fun and fabulous way to use vinyl to dress up any gift box.  And the SRM Stickers work great with the vinyl too!

Be sure to join us again tomorrow for another project using vinyl!  Our design team is loving this new addition to our product line!  And don't forget to leave a comment here on the blog to be in the running for our GIVEAWAY.  One lucky reader will WIN a stash of SRM's new vinyl!

Kitchen Vinyl Decor by Laurel

Welcome to Day #1 of Vinyl Week at the SRM Blog where everyday this week you will be treated to projects using SRM's new Vinyl made by our incredible design team.  Did you know that SRM Vinyl is Oracal #631 Matte and #651 Gloss?  And there's a GIVEAWAY too!

First up is Laurel Seabrook who loves to play with vinyl and her Silhouette transforming garage sale items into special decor.  Laurel especially loves picking up slightly used items at garage sales, decorating them and adding them to themed gift baskets.

For her first project Laurel spray painted an old rolling pin with some Chalkboard spray paint and then cut out the sentiment with her Silhouette using SRM's new White Matte Vinyl which is essential to any crafty stash.

How very cool this would look in your kitchen!  So quick and easy but sensational!

Laurel added some twine and SRM Cooking Stickers to finish off her project.  What a great way to add a special crafty touch and to display it.

For her second project Laurel had a little cutting board sitting around for a while that she had found at a garage sale.  When she got her SRM Vinyl she knew exactly what she was going to do with it!

First she sprayed it with some Chalkboard Spray paint.  She then cut out the sentiment and rooster from some of the white SRM Vinyl using her Silhouette.  Then to finish it off, she tied some solid natural twine onto the handle.

This re-purposed cutting board now sits nicely in an open shelf in Laurel's kitchen.

Do you love vinyl?  Be sure to leave a comment here on the blog and you will be in the running for a GIVEAWAY.  During this week long celebration of vinyl, one lucky person will receive a stash of SRM's Vinyl to play with! Winner will be announced next Tuesday. If you love vinyl we would also love for you to joint our Facebook Group "All Things SRM Vinyl".  Come join in the fun!

What's Cookin' by Angélique

What's cookin' on the SRM Blog next week?  Here's a sneak peek!  We are having a week that's all about vinyl featuring SRM's new adhesive vinyls that our design team has been playing with.

When Angélique Jarrier received her SRM vinyl she decided to repurpose some old glass jars to create containers for her kitchen but also to serve as decoration.    Angélique used SRM's Silver Metallic Matte Vinyl and some of SRM's Cooking stickers to embellish her project.  Angélique does not have a Silhouette so she just wrapped the vinyl around the jar and decorated it with stickers.  Easy peasy and so much fun!

Here's the SRM products Angélique used for this project.

Wedding Favors & Place Cards by Corri

Using SRM's new small muslin bags, stickers, doilies and Solid Twinery twine, Corri Garza has created some pretty favors and place cards for a wedding.

Corri stamped a doily shape on the small muslin bags with Stazon Ink.  I love how you can stamp on these muslin bags.  The possibilities are endless.  Corri trimmed the bags with a SRM border from the new Take 2 Stickers by the Dozen Wedding.  Appropriate for a wedding, Corri filled the bags with Hershey kisses!

For the place cards, Corri cut a piece of card stock 5" high and 4" wide and scored along the 5% side at 2 1/2".  She folded a SRM 4" Doily in half and glued it in place.  Then embellished the place cards with the Take 2 Stickers by the Dozen borders.  She added a small flag shaped piece of black card stock, wrote the guest's name in white and added a pearl for the finishing touch

What a lovely pair of projects that would be perfect for a wedding or an anniversary.  Thanks Corri for the inspiration!  I simply LOVE this project.  So crisp and clean and perfect!

If you love using SRM Stickers, be sure to post on our Flickr where we are approaching 7000 posts!  So much inspiration on the Flickr, I often pull projects from there and feature them on Facebook.
