Hot Chocolate Mini Tubes by Laurel

Here's a delicious idea for the holidays!  Laurel Seabrook has created a set of mini Tubes that are filled with the contents to make some hot chocolate.  What a fun idea and great for a little holiday gift or the perfect stocking stuffer to enjoy Christmas morning.  All of SRM's containers, including the tubes, are food safe so feel free to put any food products inside them.

Mini Calendar Tutorial by Roberta

Today we have a treat for you!  It's a tutorial from Roberta Rossi creating the most wonderful boxed mini calendar using SRM Stickers and one of our rectangular clear boxes.  This project is being featured on Creating Keepsake's Facebook today.  Leave a comment here on the blog and you will be in the running to win the stickers and the clear box used in this project!

Here is the finished box!

SRM Stickers Blog - Mini Calendar Tutorial by Roberta - #calendar #mini #gift #2014 #twine #borders #stitches #clear box

Here are the stickers that Roberta used:  Mini Calendar Decorative, 2014 Year of Memories, Bright Borders and Black Sticker Stitches.

And to hold her Mini Calendar, Roberta used this rectangular clear container.

And now we'll show you how she made it!   First Roberta  covered the outside with a strip of paper ( 10 ½ " x 3 5/ 8 "). , She also cut  4 squares of paper 2 ½ "x 2 ½ " (two yellow and two gray ) to cover the bottom and the cover of the box which helps the box to become more rigid and sturdy.

She then cut out 6 rectangles in yellow cardstock (2 ¼ "x 3 ½ ") and adhered the calendar months to the white cardstock.  She cut out the months by hand.

She decorated with stitching and borders the six yellow cards on both sides .

With pop dots Roberta put the 12 months, two on each yellow card (front and back and decorated them with Stone twine.

With a Sizzix die Roberta cut flowers in yellow cardstock and she assembled them to make it 3D.

SRM Stickers Blog - Mini Calendar Tutorial by Roberta - #calendar #mini #gift #2014 #twine #borders #stitches #clear box

On three sides of the box she attached strips of kraft high ¾ " and decorated with Sticker Stitches.

On the cover of the box I attached the flower and a 2014 sticker mounted on Kraft .  And now the box is ready to be loaded with the mini calendars!

SRM Stickers Blog - Mini Calendar Tutorial by Roberta - #calendar #mini #gift #2014 #twine #borders #stitches #clear box

Just put the mini calendars inside the box.  You will have 6 cards with 12 months and be sure to include a small metal clamp inside as well.

To use as a calendar, simply remove the first month from the box, attach it to the top front of the box with the metal clamp.

 Brilliant and beautiful!

Roberta is from Milan, Italy.  You know that Milan is the design capital of the world.  When someone asks you about the calendar that you made, you can simply say "It's an Italian design!"  And it is!  Thanks Roberta for this ingenious project.  It is truly an inspiration!

Fall Centerpiece by Corri

Fall is in the Air project and Corri Garza used a SRM clear box as a vase to hold a rosette bouquet center piece.  What a beautiful idea.

SRM Stickers Blog - Fall Centerpiece by Corri - #Fall #centerpiece #thanksgiving #stickers #clear box

Here's how you can create Corri's bouquet.  She used her Silhouette Cameo to cut 3 rosettes.  If you don't have a cutting machine, you can easily make these by trimming a piece of pattern paper to 1-1/4"x 12" and using a scoreboard to score every 1/8".  Fan fold the strip and hot glue the ends together to form a loop.  Flatten your rosette and hot glue a square to the front and back.  Apply one of the leaf stickers from the Thanksgiving Say it with Stickers the square.

SRM Stickers Blog - Fall Centerpiece by Corri - #Fall #centerpiece #thanksgiving #stickers #clear box

Corri used hot glue to adhere the rosettes to wooden skewers.  She trimmed the blessings and gratitue portion of the sticker and applied to white card stock, folded in half, trimmed the ends and wrapped around skewers.

SRM Stickers Blog - Fall Centerpiece by Corri - #Fall #centerpiece #thanksgiving #stickers #clear box

To hold the skewers in place, Corri used a foam ball from the craft store.  Trim the foam to fit in the clear box and cover in kraft paper shreds. Trim the top flaps off the box. Glue the foam down to the bottom of the box and add filler.

SRM Stickers Blog - Fall Centerpiece by Corri - #Fall #centerpiece #thanksgiving #stickers #clear box

Thanks for the inspiration Corri!  Those SRM clear boxes can be used in so many different ways!

My favorite memory of Cath is when she came to the SRM booth early one day at CHA in January of last year.  She was on a mission to thank me for the great job that I do with the SRM Blog and SRM Facebook.  I was really touched by how genuine and sincere she was.  Cath is such a kind, loving and generous person who has enriched all of our lives.  I often dropped by the Moxie Fab World Blog for a little pick me up during a busy day.  It always made me happy.  I will miss that.  And I will miss Cath.
