Hello friends! It's Lorena Cantó here with a project to show you that you don't necessarily need an electronic die cutting machine in order to have fun with SRM's heat transfer vinyl.
I've been wanting a handy pouch to store my make up when I travel. There are lots of cute ones out there with trendy gold designs. Cute and overpriced! So I went the crafty way and made one myself using SRM Large Muslin Bag and Heat Transfer Vinyl in gold.

Here's what you'll need. No electronic machine needed, just your manual die cutting machine and metal dies. I used a regular paper trimmer to cut the strips from the heat transfer sheet, but a craft knife works perfectly too.
I started by ironing the bag so I would have a perfectly flat surface to work with. Second, I cut strips from the heat transfer vinyl and manually die cut a simple design from the widest strip.
Once I had all my vinyl elements ready to go, I positioned them on the bag. You need to have the shiny side of the vinyl facing up. Once everything is in place, cover the vinyl with parchment paper and just iron over the paper using a no-steam setting. After the design has been adhered, you'll need to remove the adhesive plastic backing from the vinyl. Just pull gently and you're done!
Here's a closer look of the result. Look at that luscious gold! It has kind of a leather finish that I love.

I was able to use both the negative and the positive of the flower and leaves to decorate the bag.
And once I was done, I couldn't wait to fill it with my make up thingies!
One last shot of my brand new make up bag sitting up :)
That's it! I can't wait to experiment more with the heat transfer! My next project will probably be a fun t-shirt for my son. Stay tuned!
