SRM is extremely happy to welcome Nina Brackett as a guest designer today. Nina was on SRM's very first Design Team in 2010, was an Emeritus Designer in 2011 and on the SRM All Star team in 2013. She is a super talented crafter!
Nina, using vinyl for the very first time, has created a project that's simply beautiful. {{SIGH}} She was intimidated at first by vinyl but once she plunged in she found it wasn't hard at all and the result of these DIY Shabby Upcycled Jars is stunning!
Here's what Nina said about making this project:
"I decided for my first ever vinyl project to upcycle some empty mayonnaise jars that I have been wanting to use for organization. My daughter is very artistic and has accumulated supplies for her art. I made these jars (make sure they are clean and dry) to help her organize her art supplies. She loves pink so I had to use SRM's Carnation Pink matte vinyl for the labels. The flowers swag was downloaded from the Silhouette store."

Nina's cards and projects are always so beautiful, embellished with lace, ribbon and flowers. So she decided to do the same with her jars. She wrapped some vintage lace around the mouth of the jar. Some matching vintage binding and a paper flower are wrapped around the lace. {{Super Sigh}}
On this project,in addition to SRM's Pink Matte Vinyl, Nina used SRM's Transfer Tape which insured that the design would be properly placed on the jars exactly where Nina wanted it. Transfer Tape is a must! The fonts she used are Aphrodite for the first letter and Lobster 2 for the rest of the text.
Once Nina completed her project, her 2 other girls loved them so much they want some of their very own. Luckily these are not hard to make so it looks like Nina will be using more Vinyl soon! Nina said:
"This project was so fast and easy. I think it took me no more than an hour from beginning to end."
How fun to store your crafty supplies in such lovely containers.
What a treat to have Nina share her work today on the blog. Thank you for your beautiful projects. And what a lovely thing that Nina has to say about SRM: "Thank you, Susan and the SRM family, for offering so many trendy products that inspire us crafters to make quick, beautiful and useful projects like these jars."
