So excited to welcome Amy Tsuruta as our guest designer of the week! You are in for a treat! Amy is a prolific crafter who just happens to love SRM. We like that! :) And we love what she does with her SRM!
Here's a bit about Amy in her own words.
Hi ya! It's Amy Tsuruta and I live in the gorgeous state of Washington! I'm a happy momma of 2 beautiful kids that are 15 & 18 years old. I'm also engaged to thee most fantabulous man who supports my paper crafting. I work full time for a design firm in Seattle so I generally do all my crafting on the weekends. The early morning hours are usually spent being inspired by the many blogs that I follow.
I've been a long time fan of SRM...love seeing how SRM has grown and now carries a such a fun assortment of products! I've contributed 129 pictures to the SRM Flickr Gallery...yup, I love my SRM :) I adore the various fonts and sentiments that SRM carries. There is something for any and all occasions!
Let's take a look at her creations!
Amy's first project is a card for her Mom for Mother's Day featuring a photo of Amy and her 2 brothers taken back in the '70's. Everything is nestled onto a frosted acetate card base. Amy says "I love how the SRM sticker doesn't interrupt the flow of the design". On this card Amy used Amy Tangerine Yes, Please paper, SRM's Bright Border and Twinery Lilac twine.
In addition to a card for Mother's Day, Amy also created a little gift of a Starbucks gift card and tucked it into this SRM clear Pillow Box all crafted up with stamped images, lots of washi tape and a SRM sentiment. The Pillow Box not only has a gift card but 4 handcrafted tags all topped off with twine and enclosed in a Glassine Bag!
Next up is another SRM Glassine Bag this time used as a gift bag. Amy loves using them for little treats or RAKs. She l loves to pile goodies inside like washi tape, adhere a SRM label with a sentiment and then run it through her sewing machine. It makes a little surprise that much more fun!
And Amy LOVES using dimensional embellishments on her cards. She thinks that "the wooden embellies that I love to use were made for SRM stickers! The daisy from the Stickers by the Dozen is a perfect match! I love the SRM fonts, so clean & crisp!"
For her last project Amy created this card in celebration of Spring. She loaded up one of the SRM glassine bags with die cuts and adhered it to the front. The Spring sentiment is perfect on the Labels by the Dozen. And did you notice the ric rac? That's from SRM's We've Got Your Border Pastel! Amy picked the "be happy!" mini sentiments to run along the bottom of the card.
Thank you Amy for so many fun and fabulous projects. If you would like to receive a prize packet that includes the SRM products Amy used in her projects just leave a comment and keep your fingers crossed. We'll announce the winner on Monday's blog.
beautiful job Amy!!
