Calendar Layout by Shelly

Hey y'all! Shelly, here!
Today I'm sharing something I haven't made in a looong time...like, over 12 yrs or so long time. lol What is it you ask?...Well, my title most likely gave it away (lol) but...

Check it out!

A layout!?!...Yep. I made a layout. I wanted to something different and upon thinking of things, a layout came to my mind. So, I went with it. ;)

I used a bunch of SRM Stickers goodies and just had some fun! I chose to do layout of our dog because in January is her birthday.

I placed my photo where I wanted it to be and just started working around it, so to speak. I also wanted to keep things 'clean' so I did leave lots of white.

Fun and sweet, yeah?!...

Thanks so much for stopping by!
Enjoy your day!

Written on Our Hearts by Shannon

Hi, Shannon here on this chilly morning, hope this entry finds you well wherever you are. ♥

I love Bible Journaling and want to share my latest entry with you.  It's a perfect reflection for this most beautiful time of year.

The words of God are written on our hearts. Sometimes they are super hard to hear because there is so much stuff in the way. I hope you take time to find quiet and listen. It is only then that you can hear Him. You can certainly pray for guidance and discernment too. He is always speaking to us, we just have to listen and go with our conscience. You've got this, sending you love and peace in any chaos you are facing in your lives.

I cannot tell you how much I love working with the watercolors that Susan carries. They cover however you need them to..they can be opaque or not..it's all in the application, and they blend so well. It's so easy to be inspired by the colors available in the sets.

I am thankful to design for Susan and share with you. Thank you for stopping in and checking out the blog today!

Happy Holidays by Amber

Is is too early to get some inspiration for next year's Christmas cards, I don't think so!  Look at this wonderful card that Amber created...

Hello everyone & Happy Holidays! It's Amber here, today I have another fun holiday card to share. Like I said in my last post was a little behind on my holiday/Christmas cards this year so I've tried to stick to fast and easy layouts and designs.

I started by folding a 4"1/2' x 4" 1/2' green card base. I stamped three little mini Christmas images in a coordinating green ink towards the right side of my card base, I used a green ink that was one shade darker then my card base. Once I had all my images stamped I adhered a large strip of colorful striped patterned paper towards the left side of my card base.

For the main focal point of my card I die cut a large stitched scalloped circle out of some white cardstock and stamped my fun little elf image in the center. I colored my image in with some Spectrum Noir markers, masked and ink blended a blue background, and lightly stamped some matching snowflakes behind my elf image. I adhered my finished scalloped die cut towards the left of my card base and added a fancy "Happy Holidays" sentiment from SRM"s Fancy Christmas Sentiment sticker sheet towards the bottom right of my card base.

I also took one of the larger sentiment stickers that reads "May your days be Merry and Bright" from SRM's Fancy Christmas Sentiment sticker sheet and added it the inside of my card. Of course you could dress up the inside of your card a little more then I did but I was trying to keep it simple. That's it! I hope you enjoyed my card today. Thanks for visiting!

The poinsettia was cut from water color paper and given a wash of pinks and greens.  I added detailing to the petals with a white gel pen.

I added gold beads to the center of the flower, a bit of pink twine, and a sentiment from SRM's, We've Got Your Border sticker collection.

Wishing all of you a very, Merry Christmas!

Hello & Happy Holidays by Amber

Welcome to a special SRM Blog post for Christmas!  Our designers made so many wonderful Christmas projects, we wanted to share them with you right up until Christmas!   Today's post from Amber Rasmussen is sure to bring a little cheer!

Hello everyone! It's Amber here, today I have a fun Christmas card and 4" x 4" kraft gift box to share.

I started my card by folding an A2 sized  kraft card base and die cutting a pierced rectangle out of some white cardstock. I set my kraft card base aside and started working on my stamping. I randomly stamped my little Christmas images in some Memento Tuxedo black ink and colored them with some Spectrum Noir markers. I adhered my stamped panel to my kraft card base and added a white die cut label with a Happy Holidays sentiment sticker from SRM's Fancy Christmas Sentiment sticker sheet.

The little tag I created to match my card was super easy to make. I die cut my tag out of some white cardstock, randomly stamped my little Christmas images, and colored them. Once I had all my images colored I added a white die cut label with the same Happy Holidays sentiment sticker I used for my card.

Of course I had to have something to add my matching tag to so I pulled out one of SRM Stickers 4" x 4" x 4" Kraft Boxes and started decorating it. Before assembling the gift box I took one of the Hello sentiment stamps from SRM's Big Hello clear stamp set and stamped it in black ink around all four edges and the top portion of my box. Once all my stamping was done I assembled the box, added my gift inside, tied some red twine around my gift box, and added my tag. That's it, super easy, right?

Jolly Card by Amber

Hello everyone & Happy Holidays! It's Amber here, today I have this festive watercolored card to share. Christmas is right around the corner and I'm a little behind creating cards this year so I thought it would be fun to create a quick and simple watercolored card perfect for a friend.

I started by die cutting a pierced rectangle out of some white watercolor paper and then randomly stamped a candy cane image in different directions all across my watercolor paper. Once I had all my images stamped I watercolored them with a Red & Green Marvy Color In Watercolor Pencil and a gold gel pen.

I let my watercolored piece dry over night and then adhered it to my green A2 sized card base. I wanted my sentiment to be big and bold so I die cut a scalloped circle out of some white cardstock, stuck down the round "Tis' the season to be JOLLY" sentiment sticker from SRM's Fancy Christmas Sentiment sticker sheet, and adhered it to my card front with a little red wooden clothes pin with some black twine. I hope you enjoyed my card today! Thanks for visiting!

Bible Journaling Tags by Karen

Tags are a great addition to your Bible Journaling and one more way to incorporate your creative side into your devotion and prayer time. You can use tags as "tip-ins" directly in your Bible, add them to your Faith Planner, use them as a card base, or as a bookmark, and so much more. Today I'm sharing a layered and stamped tag design in 3 color versions.

Each tag is made with the same base and stamped sentiment. I cut the 2-layered tag using my die cut machine. The star cut-out on the top layer really said "Christmas Star" to me. Each top layer was cut in white cardstock. I used waterproof ink (I used StazOn) to stamp the sentiment. To make stamping easy, I arrange the individual words directly on my large acrylic block so I can stamp it all at once. Each of these individually cut clear stamps is found on the "God is Love" faith stamp set.

After stamping, I used multiple ColorIn watercolor pencils to get the two blended color backgrounds (yellow-orange-red and lt blue-dk blue-purple). I cut the back layer in a coordinating cardstock. For the white tag, I only added a bit of inking around the edge of the tag and then glitter around the star. As a finishing touch on each I used a coordinating LePen marker in fine tip and added a dotted line to follow the flourished top and bottom edges.

Festive Card Set by Shelly

Hey y'all! Shelly, here!
Today I'm sharing a festive card set with you, that happens to be easy, too!

I started by doing some stenciling for my card base. Which I chose traditional red and green inks. After, I did some die cutting for my squares and holly leaves.

Then once done, I added my sticker to each square die cut piece. And after I simply added my square sticker piece along with two holly leaves to each of my cards. Easy peasy, yeah?!...

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Share Joy Tags by Shannon

Shannon here with another tag set sure to help you get in the spirit to spread joy this season!

Handmade tags are such an easy way to convey love, in this crazy world, it's so hard to get wrapped up in ourselves. Taking a few minutes to make something for someone else is actually a gift to them...and to you. You took time to give to someone else and put them first. You in turn, took time for you, to slow down and work on something that brings you happiness.

Make sure you do that this time of year. Slow down and enjoy. Find happy in each day!

'Tis the Season Tags by Shelly

Hey y'all! Shelly, here!
Hope all is well?!...Today, I'm sharing a set of simple and fun Christmas tags with you!

With Christmas being right around the corner, I think we all could use some tags for our gifts, right?! ;)

I kept my tags very simple. I stamped on a cute little snowman image in black ink, then did a little coloring with colored pencils. After I added a mini clothespin, along with some red jute twine and my sticker sentiment piece (which for my sticker piece, I added my sticker on white cardstock and then did some simple cutting with it). Easy peasy, right?!...

Holiday Decor by Shantaie

We have so many amazing holiday projects that we've decided to have a special weekend post!  Enjoy!

Hi! Shantie here in Florida we don't have much of a chance to make snowmen, unless they are covered in glitter and added to our holiday decor! I love decorating for holidays, the lights and greenery, and the GLITTER!!!

I found these beautiful rustic oversize tin ornaments and they seemed just perfect for a little holiday vignette. I traced the tree and inserted a pretty sparkly paper and built a border with rows of
little borders and we've got your border pastel. I wanted to soften it a touch, so  I brushed it with a swipe of white paint along the edges, and began building the scene.

I imagined what my perfect snowy scene would look like and added lace, snowflakes, and of course a glittered felt snowman!

A triple banner was made with a strip of film strip, and two greetings from stickers by the dozen Christmas  and winter sentiments. I plan to enjoy my little tin tree in my craft room sitting on the shelf right above my gift wrapping station!

Tis the Season by Tobi

Hi there. Tobi Crawford here with a gorgeous watercoloured poinsettia card. It looks really complicated, but the stamp did most of the work, I promise!!

Knowing I was going to watercolour, I stamped in Distress Ink - that way any water I added to the ink would blend with the Watercolor Pencils I used.

The process I used for each petal was to:
1) Add some watercolour pencil in the shaded areas
2) Blend pencil and ink with a water pen

To finish the card off, I added some watercolour washes in the background and a bunch of splatters in white and brown.

A classy sentiment from We've Got Your Sticker - Merry on vellum was the final touch!

Be Merry Tags by Shannon

Are you looking for festive gift tag ideas? Shannon here to share some gift worthy tags with you using SRM!

There are so many ways to create tags, the possibilities really are endless. I created these tags with traditional gift wrap in mind. You can always use tags too...last minute gifts that pop up, tags are great for wrapping around a hostess gift or a teacher gift...or for that oddly shaped gift we always seem to have that is hard to wrap!

I took a picture of each tag for you so you could see that even though some of the designs are the same, they all turn out to be uniquely their own tag. Handmade really is bestmade. ♥

You'll find a bunch of SRM Products tucked here and there on these tags!

Thanks for looking!
Hope I have inspired you to create some tags for your friends and family also!

Watercolor Twist Galaxy Card by Karen

Hi friends - Karen here with another ColorIn Watercolor Twist project. I continue to be impressed by the wonderful versatility and strong colors of these ColorIn Watercolor Twists.

Today, I used them to create a galaxy/night sky effect for a card.
To begin, I cut a page from an old hymnal that included the lyrics to Silent Night. If you don't have a hymnal (I picked up several at a big book sale) you could print off the lyrics from online. This particular sheet was thicker than Bible paper, so it held water fairly well as I worked the colors together. The words get a bit muted and covered by the paint, but are still visible enough to know they are there and what they are.

To create the effect, I used the black, purple, and blue Watercolor Twists. I began with the black around the edges and added the purple and blue gradually, being generous with the water to blend and layer them with the paintbrush. One of the tricks to creating a galaxy is to create a lot of movement of color across your page, as opposed to well defined, even splotches of color. Don't be nervous about going dark - watercolors are very forgiving and color can be picked up with the watercolor brush if needed. When the colors were nearly dry, I added a bit of watered down white acrylic and lots of white spray/splatter drops for that starry (or maybe snowy) look.

For this project, I used ColorIn Watercolor Twists with the included brush.
