The Night Before Christmas

Have you given thought to your holiday greeting cards this season? We have some great stickers that will make assembling your Christmas cards a breeze! First up is a card using 'December' from our Mini Calendar Stickers. A gemstone was placed on the 24th to indicate Christmas Eve. The focal image was stamped and colored with markers;

The next card features a sticker from our Christmas Fancy Sentiments. The sticker was placed directly on the stamped and colored piece;

We have some great tube ideas for you tomorrow - stay tuned!

Guest Designer, Megan Aaron

We are so happy to have Megan Aaron at the Blog today, sharing a project she created with one of our new stickers. We spotted Megan's work in our Gallery and asked her to create a special project for her spotlight feature. Here's Megan and her amazing calendar using our new Mini Calendar Stickers!

I am a 31 year old software engineer, wife, mother and almost compulsive scrapbooker. I have always been a crafter, and kept a very old school style scrapbook throughout my school years. However, I really got interested in scrapbooking after a trip to Europe in 2004 and have never looked back. Currently, my favorite subject is my 5-year-old daughter, Eliana. She is very adventurous, fun-loving, energetic and photogenic, so I get lots of opportunities to take photos. My main motivation for scrapbooking has always been to preserve memories, since I have a really terrible memory. However, I also enjoy it as a creative outlet and a stress reliever. Oh, and I also just love the feel and the smell of the papers and all the pretty embellishments. I have been on the team at A Cherry On Top.com for a couple years, am currently on the Scrapdango kit club team and have been lucky enough to have a variety of other design team experiences. I have only begun to submit to magazines fairly recently but have been published in several online magazines and am looking forward to a couple of paper publications that will be out this winter.

I have to admit that I only found SRM stickers fairly recently. I honestly don't know how I didn't know about them sooner, because now I use them on pretty much all my cards and on my layouts as well. I love that they match with everything! I also love that SRM stickers are fast and easy. I don't do much stamping, and never seem to have the right sentiment, but with SRM stickers I have a great variety of sentiments and I don't have to worry about messing up like I do with stamping. The words are always crisp and perfect! I can get the perfect placement too! I am very meticulous about everything being centered just right, and SRM stickers make THAT easy too!

Megan used her Zutter Bind It All to create this unique handmade keepsake along with patterned papers, ribbon, stitching, journaling spots, and photographs. You can view more of Megan's work at her BLOG. Thank you, Megan!

Paper of the Week; BasicGrey

It's Monday, time for another Paper of the Week Feature! Virginia Lu is here with her projects using SRM Stickers and;

BasicGrey
"
Out of Print"

Project #1: Layout with paper-weaving. This photo was taken when my son David, his piano partner and friend, jumped up in triumph when they just finished a spectacular performance at a piano concert.

Project #2: Birthday Card. My son turned 17 this month. He LOVES kite flying! So this is for him! The Our of Print graphic is newspaper-like, great look for a homemade kite.

Project #3: Flowery birthday card. Lots of cutting and no stamping needed.

Project #4: Tubes. I needed to make some thank-you gifts for a lawyer's office.

Project #5: Princess Wands. My friend is going through a tough time as her husband is newly diagnosed with cancer. Her two teenage daughter are under a lot of stress and heartaches. I want to give them these princess wands (with bath salt) to cheer them up a bit.

Would you like to win BasicGrey's "Out of Print" collection along with a prize package of brand new SRM Stickers? Just leave a comment on this post (make sure you're a follower first!) and we'll choose a winner to be announced next Monday. Thanks for stopping by!

Retailer Spotlight; Cool Scrapbook Stuff

We are pleased to spotlight one of favorite retailers, Cool Scrapbook Stuff in Poway, California. Owner, Gena Barney, and her customers are crazy for SRM Stickers. Gena has ordered and re-ordered almost every sticker that SRM has produced...and that's a lot of stickers!

How did it all begin? Gena owned a copy shop with a scrapbooking department. She hated the copying part but loved the scrapbooking part so she decided to just go crafty. Thus, Cool Scrapbook Stuff was born in 1998. She's been at her current location since 2003 which is jam packed with lots of scrapbooking goodies. Some people say there isn't anything that she doesn't have! Gena started ordering stickers from SRM in March of 2000 and has not stopped ordering since. She's truly one of our biggest cheerleaders. The reason she goes so deep into the line is because, "People buy stickers. Scarcely is there a request where I can’t suggest a SRM Sticker", Gena laughs. Gena loves that SRM has so many different themes and that the product is so usable.

Personally, Gena loves and uses SRM Stickers. In her own words she says "Um…. DUH! I LOVE THEM! Love that they are clear-backed. Love that they are versitile. Love that they change with the times. LOVE-LOVE-LOVING the new “Fancy” stickers!" But in the next breath, when asked what her favorite SRM Product is, she said "I love them all! But, right now, clearly I’m LOVING the Mini Calendar stickers!" She loves them so much that she created this amazing wall calendar;

As a retailer, Gena loves that SRM Stickers is SO responsive to requests and takes input so well. She says, "More companies should be like that! I mean, if there are thousands of people asking for something, shouldn’t a company develop it?" And Gena is not shy about speaking up. With her encouragement, SRM created calendar products that have been a great addition to the line. Listening to our retail and consumer customers helps SRM to create new products that are lacking in the market.

Gena also she feels that SRM stickers sell themselves. She loves the high quality and is a big fan that all SRM products are "Made In The USA". She loves the Blog because it offers SO many samples and she refers tons of her customers to check it out!

Here are more projects by Cool Scrapbook Stuff;

SRM and Cool Scrapbook Stuff have been a great team for over 10 years. Kind of a mutual admiration society. If you are ever in the area, drop in but be prepared because Gena will certainly recommend that you buy SRM Stickers!

Thank you for joining us at the Blog this week. Be sure to pop by on Monday for another Paper of the Week Feature and chance to win!
