It's Just His Nature

SRM Designer, Amy Heller, captured a whimsical moment with her camera as she and her son were waiting for her little girl to come home from school on the bus. He caught a toad in the grass and as she says, "It's just his nature..."

Amy used Pink Paislee's new "Old School" paper collection for her layout along with SRM Stickers;

Pencil Cup - Altered Tin Can by Kathy

Altered projects have to be my biggest challenge...Kathy Racoosin is here with a quick and easy way to alter to a large tin can to serve as a pencil cup! Love this idea, as my colored pencils are currently in a ziploc bag!

Kathy used SRM's Fall Sticker Sentiments for her project along with gorgeous Pink Paislee paper. She needed a fat can to accommodate all of her pencils so she went with this one;

In Kathy's words;
Oh where to begin. I wanted to "alter" something because I needed a container for my colored pencils. I didn't have anything in the recycle bin but I remembered how nice and fat this 28 oz. can of tomatoes is - perfect! So I went to my pantry and emptied out my tomatoes so I could use the can! I know it was a little backward, but I saved the tomatoes to use for dinner...at least I knew what was going to be on the menu.

My vision was to create a cute little scene that was elevated or pop-dotted. Here are all the pieces.

Thought this was a good idea but, look what you can see -- crumpled paper when it bent around the can, and too many pop dots. See my solution...

Lots and lots of buttons! The best part is that it holds my 132 colored pencils! I never thought they would all fit! Very happy about that. :)

I was on a roll so I decided to alter a vintage jar for my mother;

In case you're curious, here's the recipe Kathy uses for her sauce -- just right click on the image to view it larger. (Looks yummy!)

I have a bit more Pink Paislee for you tomorrow along with a cards for kids showcase and our Bazzill Appreciation Day on Friday...lots of projects this week! Thanks for stopping by.
